I need set-up help to control my Digitech Vocalist Pro chord changes. I understand I can do this using a MIDI channel? I would like to cover the complete set-up process:
1) BnB set-up for the midi channel
2) What is the best method to run midi from my PC? Do I new something like a MIDISport UNO?
3) What are the connections?
4) What are the set-up parameters for the Vocalist Pro?
One related question: Can I also control Vocal Presets from BnB?

Under options in BiaB, under Ouput Chords you can select the channel to output chord info, also you can select what kind of chords to ouput (triads, or more complecated 4 note chords).
Set your Digitech Vocalist Pro to receive chord info to the same channel number. Then connect your PC via a MIDI cabel to your Digitech Vocalist Pro, anything that will ouput MIDI (like e.g. the MIDISport you mention) will do the job.
Sofar I have not found a way to let BiaB control the vocal presets.
By the way I use the TC Helicon Voice Works, but the principals will be similar.

I set my VoiceLive to midi 5.
I set the output channel to midi 5.
I set the Soloist channel to midi 5.
I connect the Edirol usb midi cable to the input.
I ensure the Soloist track clean by erasing it.
If I want patch 3.2 (Mine is 3 harmonies above) I press F5 at the first measure.
I put in the midi instrument 32 (guitar of some sort) from the drop down box. I save with the + sign (patches and harmonies).
Everything should now work fine.
Band in a Box and the TC-Helicon are then working together, and I only have had a few problems where I must play a file that messes with the settings. If I get something strange from a file I put in in a file folder called WeirdSongs. I then don't use them...
My sets are all working fine...and you can press F5 at any bar and have the box change, change instrument volumes etc...

Thanks for your reply. I am running DXI for the synth stuff because of the audio output, which is now telling me that I can't select the MIDI UNO as my output driver. I'm not sure what to do at this point. I have a question into support and will update my post when I hear back from them.

Time to order the Ketron SD2 from pgmusic and replace the Dxi synth. The downside is the inability to quickly generate a batch of mp3's in a folder.
The upside is the Dxi isn't really supported anymore, doesn't work in Windows 64 anything and is sitting spinning it's wheels. I used it for a long time, but your not losing a lot. And the Ketron has zero latency, and sounds better. My setup has the midi out to the voicelive, then thru to the Ketron or vice versa, it doesn't matter.
