I just installed BIAB 2010 and loaded various song to play.One at a time of course.Well, I usually just hit the spacebar twice to play a chosen song.At least that's the way it worked in all my former BIAB windows programs.Well, nothing happened????? So I hit F4 and then it started playing.So how do I get BIAB 2010 to start playing when I hit the spacebar?

It`s in the Options. You have to tell it to do that.

Opts. -> Preferences
And then locate the SPACEBAR dropdown on the RH side.
Select the way you want the Spacebar to work.

It works if you have the 1st measure hightlighted and hit the spacebar. But if you have a measure in the middle of a song highlighted, it won't start playing from the beginning. ONLY if you hit F4.Its a BUG!

Are you certain you have read the three choices?
1) Enters no chord (deletes the current chord)
2) Plays from current position (Ctrl+Spc from start)
3) Plays from start (Ctrl+Spc from current position)
Sounds like you would like choice #3.
This is not a bug. It's a feature, and a good one.

Hi Russell. Yes, we work well as a team, but in case you don't know, it's an unofficial one.
That label for me of Team PG Expert is only based on the number of posts I have made. Same for everyone else here. You will move up the chain as you post more, but that's all it means. When someone from PG Music, like Andrew or Peter Gannon, posts here, you will clearly see they work for PG Music. The rest of us are users, just like yourself.

Was just a means for me to 'collectively' say thanks. I've read your answers to posts as much as anyone else's and the title doesn't matter to me -- the answers do. Thanks just the same. As for this thread, it seemed like a team effort anyhow and you were part of what I read.

Just now tried all three possible selections and all combinations -- works as it is supposed to here (XP SP3, BiaB2010 ver 295.
Note also that use of the Ctrl-Spacebar will do the opposite for you from what the Spacebar setting allows Spacebar alone to do.
If yours doesn't do that after experimenting with the choices in the Prefs dropdown, try a reboot of the computer first, if still no joy try a Return to Factory Settings under the Opts. menu.
