Hi Folks.
Sorry for the long absence.  With limited time between family and work I've made a choice to strictly focus on my songs, as participation in Showcase is far more than just slapping your tunes in the playlist. I will try my best to be more present this year (whether you like it or not).  Constructive critique is always welcomed and encouraged. Thank you for giving this time.

Confidence

Wearing my fuzzy slippers,
Running in the front of the train.
Confused neurotransmitters- doing acrobatics in the brain.
A monster of steel breathing behind,  a well oiled heart is ticking like clock.
Operator is legally blind
My confidence is falling apart.

Keep dreaming of world without oppression,
There is plenty  of space for you and I,
But there's so much unneeded tensions
Tug of war between left and the right.

Wearing tight Speedos, racing with smiling sharks,
Beta testing my libido, all for questionable arts.
Amphibian monsters circling around,
Ancient hearts are beating like drums
Lifeguard is legally blind
My confidence is falling apart

Wearing dark sunglasses, I wander into the night.
Unfamiliar places, thugs looking for a fight.
Shadow separated from the wall - I am on my own..
Heart skipping beats - caught off guard,
My confidence is falling apart.

Keep dreaming of world without oppression.
There is plenty  of space for you and I,
But there's so much unneeded tensions,
Tug of war between left and the right.

I think this is the very first time I've heard someone rhyme Speedo with libido.
You're a strange guy, Misha.
smile
I love your explorations into unknown worlds, and even if I don't quite understand what your song is about, I LOVE it.
You use combinations of instruments that I would never have thought would work together.
But they do.
Perfectly.
Very, very good work [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

Misha,

I always love the surprises you have in store for your listeners. Nice use of the talk box - brief but perfectly utilized. And your percussion choices are superlative. Your creativity is mind-blowing!

That was a terrific ride! Simply awesome!

Misha,

Great to hear you again!

These lyrics have an almost dreamlike feel. Great vocal and a great mix as always. A very cool compelling mix of playfulness and existential unease.

Loved it!

Bob

Misha, splendid musical head trip. The "heart skipping..." line is bonkers good. Love how softly you sing most of this, like you lack...confidence. But it all sounds SO confident and...just great. Super arrangement, too.

You have the original sound that I absolutely love. Such a clever combination of of instruments. Voice sounds great, and I like the little vocal parts that are just under the main part. It's good to have you back!

Hi Misha!
I love the rhythm and feel of this - am I correct in saying it has reggae underpinnings? I love reggae! As others have said, this arrangement is laden with effects, and is a lesson on how much these special FX can add to the story.
The lyrics - that's some quirky stuff right there. I got the impression that each verse tells a different story of over-confidence - and still trying to get the visual imagery of speedos out of my mind - or as we in Australia call them - 'budgie smugglers'.

The internal rhyme is terrific. Your command of poetic English is impressive. I love it when users explore the Realtracks for hidden gems. That talkbox is quite distinctive. Great track, hope you have time for more.

Welcome back to the forum. What a very unique piece of music. It was a treat for the ears. The lyrics are so original and darkly humorous. And correct me if I'm wrong, but English isn't your first language, so that's quite a feat. Your opening three lines...what can I say? I laughed out loud at the picture they painted. Confused neurotransmitters- doing acrobatics in the brain...brilliant.

I keep dreaming of a world without oppression too, and who knows...one day...could be.

And whatever happens with confidence, at least you know you are a very clever songwriter.

Misha, this is an extremely creative piece. Great use of real tracks, super mix and arrangement, unbelievable lyrics that require much thought all combine to make a wonderful listen. The vocal is very expressive with nice background touches. You not only have your own style but your own genre. Great!

Oh, my, I am so happy --thrilled even-- to hear you say you'll be concentrating on your music, Misha. You are thoroughly missed. Man, I always enjoy your unique lyrics, and you start right away with "Wearing my fuzzy slippers, Running in the front of the train." And it goes on to deliver some of your best lyrical images. This song has to be played over and over to get it all --if it's even possible. On the second spin, and I only scratched to outer surface. Great production and mix. Uniquely creative.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Excellent arrangement and instrumentation. Brilliant song and the backing vocals are standout.

Hi Misha.
I wondered where you went.
It's a joy to hear your imaginative tunes again.
Great arrangement as usual and that right touch of humour.

Your usual weirdly wacky wonderful creation. I certainly enjoying seeing what you're dishing up out of the recesses of your uniquely creative mind.
