Hi Folks.
Glad to see active SC participation & offerings by new members.
My summer became more dense with family & chores than I anticipated. I apologize for being absent and not involved more in this amazing music community. I still write, but I feel it would be unfair to post my tunes and not listen to yours. Taking advantage of the holiday, I am posting a song that I wrote a few months back and recently finished. All comments, especially critique are welcomed. Thank you for listening. Misha.

Who Will

I was circling around
Did I make a wrong turn?
I was searching for the clues,
in the wrong part of the town

They say love will make you blind,
They say love will conquer all..
Like equilibrist walking on a tightrope,
Will you catch me if I fall?

Language of the blindness,
Calls from the wilderness
Cognitive awareness of alternate realities,
Useless formalities, pointless fatalities,
Painful tooth, warping truth.

I've had a dream where time stood still.
No voices heard, no voids to fill
I was hunting for the signs,
Walking on the field of mines
They say love will make you blind,
They say love will conquer all..
Like cliffhanger grasping to the mountain,
Will you catch me if I fall?

I've carried a splinter in my heart,
I've hauled water in a sieve.
I was chasing sacred art,
But found nothing but grief.

They say love will make you blind,
They say love will conquer all..
We are like autumn leaves swaying to the ground
Who will catch us when we fall.

Welcome back, Misha! What an amazing sounding song. Super arrangement and instrument selection. The intro really draws the listener in. Love your vocals and (what I think is) vocal doubling. Those short stops are used for great dramatic effect, too. The steel soloist is an unexpected treat, and fits right in. Love will make you blind indeed. smile Great song!

Misha, totally engaging at all levels! The connections you make--musically, lyrically, story-wise--are tremendous, and a source of inspiration/creativity for me. Loved everything about it, and it really demonstrates a mastery of BIAB--esp your selection of RT's and their application in your project. Final note: I'm always impressed by the attitude of the forum participants about the "fairness" of giving listening attention to others as new projects are posted--most charitable and generous! Good to hear from you again!

When listening to the intro, I wouldn't have expected a rumba rhythm, but it really fits well.
As always, I dig your lyrics and vocals.
And your mix is REALLY good.
Sorry Misha, no critique from me.
This is the really good stuff [Linked Image - Only viewable when logged in]

Misha,

Always look forward to hearing your music. Or rather your Creations.
Really enjoyed the production. Flows.
Is the "bass" one of the mentioned Kontakt synth? Which you played, I assume?
A musical tapestry. I had to re-listen with high-end (Sony) buds - to make sure I did not miss anything.
Delightful.
Good mix.

I always enjoy your lyrical imagination.

Great chord structure, instrumentation, arrangement and mix. Love the haunting vocals.

Welcome back, Misha! The rumba sounds great with your voice and suits the lyric. I especially like:

I've had a dream where time stood still.
No voices heard, no voids to fill
I was hunting for the signs,
Walking on the field of mines

"Painful tooth, warping truth."
The essence of societal/cultural/civilization problems.
Lovely arrangement - air, space & cohesion.
Great to hear your voice and to dissolve into such a wonderful song.

Cheers

Hi, Misha.

You've got a unique musical vision on this forum, and it's great to have you back.

Poetry set to a fever dream in a minor key.

The steel string was unexpected, and fit perfectly. The pauses in the music work really well.

And, of course, your vocals fit it all together.

Awesome. smile

Nice rhythm, but for my taste your vocals were too much behind the band and there was too much reverberation.

Welcome back Misha and no need to apologize, family always comes first and sometimes life does get in the way when it comes to making music. This is a fantastic song. Loved the arrangement and instrumentation, especially that lap steel guitar and bass line. Great vocal and mix.

Been wondering about you. The only bad thing about the forum is that we have no clue if someone has shuffled off this planet when they're merely taking a break. I'm a huge fan of your poetic music, it's amazing what you do with English words. This didn't disappoint, it had all the elements that make your songs unique. Enjoyed it a lot, looking forward to more!

Lyrically and musically very beautiful tango, I enjoyed the dance between melancholy and doubt, "We are like autumn leaves swaying to the ground/Who will catch us when we fall" very nice way to end the song.

Pleasant instrumentation, liked the piano intro, and the soulful rhythm - especially the bass.

Your deep vibrato is once again a warm breeze from the East, welcome back!

This is fantastic! Love the breaks, especially when the steel guitar comes in---that sounded out of this world. The lyrics are on another level. Again fantastic.

We always enjoy your lyric. This verse stays with us:

“Language of the blindness,
Calls from the wilderness
Cognitive awareness of alternate realities,
Useless formalities, pointless fatalities,
Painful tooth, warping truth.”

Cool band with a great mashup of RT’s and Kontakt.
The mix is representative of your always great productions.
Everything sounds great on the monitors.

It’s good to hear your vocals again too. excellent.

Great to hear a new one from you.
Enjoyed it!
