I know you can save window setups in RB. Sometimes, when RB gets flaky on me (probably more an issue with asio and my soundcard than with RB), the only way I can get things back to normal is deleting the rb.cfg file and the other related one - can't think of the name of it right now ...
Of course every time I need to do this, I have to go back in RB afterwards and change numerous "Prefs" settings back to my liking. I have so far not found a way to save Prefs settings so they can be put back again in one fell swoop. Is there a way to do this?

Why not keep a separate copy of the "rb.cfg file and the other related one" with all your preferred settings elsewhere which can then be copied and pasted over the problem versions when you feel the need?

Be sure to grab a coy of the critical files *before* the program has a chance to get corrupted.
You can store them anywhere but in the same folder with the program's .exe.
Next time you need to do the thing, just Copy and Paste the files right overtop of the old ones -- AFTER shutting down the program first. Then restart the program.

What I do ,or I should say have done, is to delete these files then start Real Band. Don't do anything with the program. Get all of your settings the way you want and THEN save copies of those files. That way they are in pristine condition.
