Hello everyone. Just checking in to say I still read the posts from time to time. Not doing any recording these days. Just found out I have DIABETES (type 2)... I did manage to do a concert at my church that I grew up in. On Sunday night I did about 10 songs, and in between ever 2 songs, someone else performed. Lots of my ole friends there and some relatives wanted to know where I got such fine musicians to back me up. I had created backing tracks of many of my songs. Since RB was used and many LIVE MUSICIAN FRIENDS from here were used, it took a while to explain and I'm not sure everyone understand.  But we had a good time and that's all that matters. I'm still around for now.... just not a regular on the forums anymore. I think of you all often.

And believe me Ray, we think of you, too.
So, now, what you need to do is listen to exactly what the doctor tells you, and then do it.
Diabetes is something that you can live with. Okay, it's not easy, but remember, God is still watching over you, so I'll say a prayer for you tonight. Relax, tell our Father what you *want* to be doing, visualize it, and eventually you'll be doing it.

I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!

I should take a picture of the 'shrine' downtown to Dr. Banting, who discovered insulin. The Diabetes Society runs it as a museum, he practiced regular medicine here for a number of years before moving to Toronto.
Thousands of people who are dependent on insulin trek to see the place every year, I would guess it means a lot to people who would be dead had he not spent his waking hours trying to find a cure.
The insulin is not a cure, but it's helped millions of people live long and prosperous lives.

I've been diagnosed type II diabetic for years. Like BB King, I do what I'm supposed to do and live my life.
Its not so bad, Ray, learn to keep an eye on your numbers and what to do about it, listen to the doctors, ask questions and get answers, then follow through with what you are supposed to do about it. A little light excercise, like walking briskly, is good. Four or five small meals rather than two or three large meals is good, too.

I just got the meter. They told me to stay close to someone and stuff anything and everything down my gob. By next week I won't eat anything. Nice. So until things settle down, calories, protein, anything, and ignore the meter. Unless I start having serious side effects, they gave the wife a list.
I guess one card trumps the other eh Donald?

Ray, one of the Psalms, maybe 138 or 139 says stuff like that He knew us before we were born and the number of our days and the number of the hairs on our head...just keeping track of the one's I'm losing takes up a few pages in His book. It's awesome to think of that level of love He has for us that He should know all of this, comfort us through what we must go through and have His heart broken when many turn away but rejoice with them that accept His Grace. Hold fast, there is no other Saviour than Christ, But you already know that, I just felt like sharing this morning. Peace, Wyndham
