Okay, Jim Henson's Muppet band had a puppet named, "Animal" at the drums.

This guy takes Animal's cake.

Hey, Mac -

Loved it. I forwarded to my son, in case he wants to change his playing style. LOL.

Hi Mac,

This is really funny. Never saw a drummer like this one beside "Animal" of the muppets. I would love to hear him sing as well while drumming :-)

Considering his crazy style, he's playing those drums rather tight as well.

Cheers

He is one great showman, at least for one song per gig!

This is what Chris Farley's Motivational Speaker Guy would look like if he played drums. Very funny!

The drummer is hilarious to watch. I saw the clip a few days ago on another site.

I suspect that if I hired him as a drummer, I would fire him after the first gig. He's way too distracting.

If he only did his "Animal" routine when it was his turn to solo it would be great, but I'd say that he's hard to contain.

Reminds me of second my ex-wife. It always looked like someone had stuck a chainsaw in her plate! The first ex-wife wouldn't let a crumb escape! Why be wasteful?????????

Amazing! At first, I thought it was anger management issues, but this guy is a showman, truly. I mean, what he did, and how he did it, and how he sounded shows that he knows his business. After watching him, I'm not sure I'll ever make another drummer joke.

He has my respect.

Mac,

Fire him and send him to rehab!!!!!!

Every member of the band is supposed to support the other members of the band! This guy is all about himself!

But that's just my opinion. This guy would never have made it beyond an audition for me.

If you want a band that's all about the drummer, then this is the guy to hire. If you simply want a band...........................................................

I'd be happy to share the spotlight with a guy who gets my band over a million views on Youtube, but I'd fire anyone who showed up to a gig in one of those gold jackets.

That's just me though ;-)

I bet they get gigs like crazy. Dude is a machine.

The only person who should draw attention during a show is: whoever is singing lead, playing lead, or announcing the next song.

This guy would not only be a royal pain in the ass, but he should be invited "outside" between sets for an "attitude adjustment" by the other band members!!

The only reason I didn't post this the first time I saw it was because I figured it would hit too close too home for the drummers in the crowd.

Drummers should be heard, felt, but never seen in a group! In other words, they should do the same thing as every other member of the group when it isn't their time to solo. Keep the beat, and keep your head down, and back off!

Shut up and play! (Don't draw attention to yourself unless it's your turn to solo!)

Jeez! (Sorry, but this is a sore spot for me. I could relate to the post from Craigslist on here before where it said "I'll give you $100 to shoot my drummer", because a lot of drummers seem to think that it's their turn to solo every time!). Better to not have a drummer than to have one who thinks they are a soloist. Only one song in 100 needs a drum solo! Okay..............unload!

Bob, I think you probably have missed out on what this band is all about. It's about this drummer's schtick. That's about it. There's a reason you haven't heard of Rick K. and the Allnighters - it's a gag band where the centerpiece IS the drummer.

The whole point of the band is crummy gold lamé jackets and a drummer that has a show. That's about it.

On 'Sharp Dressed Man', listen to the singer - do you think that anyone is there to hear that singer do that song? Do you think that's why they got hired for that gig? - no way. They landed the gig most likely based upon the antics of the drummer and the other guy with the 4th lamé jacket. It's a schtick band - plain and simple.

And regarding this comment: "Drums are what you play if you can't play anything else!" WOW - I sure hope your'e joking because this is exactly opposite of my experience. There's a reason 'good' drummers are hard to find and it's not because drums are so incredibly easy to play on time with skill and panaché.

You're probably right.

I'm not joking about that one Scott. I know there are exceptions, but I've never met a drummer, (aka, someone who plays drums most of the time), who could play any other instrument worth a shit.

I went to a jam session once and during the break, I sat down down at the drums and started beating on them. I had never played drums in my life! The leader of the band pulled me aside and asked me if I would be their new drummer!!!!!!

That's pathetic! I can't play drums!

During the sixties, someone pulled either Paul McCartney or John Lennon aside for an interview and asked if Ringo was the "best drummer in the world". The response was,"Ringo isn't even the best drummer in the Beatles!"

I guess it's a personal thing, but I only want drummers to "back off", and keep the beat. Nothing else. Anything else is a distraction and takes away from the music.

Mac,

You're right. I haven't seen a fraction of what you, or many other members here have seen.

But I'm not a fan of drummers. Thats never gonna change. I've played with too many who are annoying as hell because they don't know when to "lay back".

For my taste, you should "feel" the drum beat.........not have it at the forefront.
