Hi All,
Installed the 2010.5 update and the new real tracks and bib seems to working well no hicups so far. Impressive as usual.
One thing I don't understand is that each of the new realtracks sets are listed in the stylepicker window but previous realtrack are not. I know they are all there from choosing song demos and the realtrack genre headings in the stylpicker but...
Is there any way of getting the older realtracks sets listed in the stylepicker window as the new ones do so as to make clarification of what is available much easier to find or is this not possible with older realtracks?

Hi Jeff,
I haven't received my new disks yet, but hopefully this may help. Firstly have you done a style rebuild? This should integrate the new styles with the older ones. Also there is a new feature in 2010.5 which allows you to select options of MIDI only, MIDI + Real Tracks, Only Reals tracks etc (I'm not in front of BIAB at the moment so I'm going from memory.)
It's in the dropdown near where we previously selected "When Style & tempo match" etc.

Yeah I have tried those options but come to think of it I am not sure I have ever seen the older realtracks sets listed seperately in the stylepicker window so maybe it is not possible. Maybe PG can confirm this.

Jeff, Whenever I've installed new styles disks in the past, and rebuilt, all of the new styles are displayed merged with the previous ones, so I'm not sure why yours doesn't. A basic question, but have you checked the "Show all styles disks"?

Don't expect older styles, Real or MIDI to remain in separately feature folders forever.
At some point in successive versions they get merged into the main pool and the newly made styles are listed separately to highlight what you've just bought.
If that wasn't done, by now the listing on the LH side of the StylePicker would be very long indeed.

Is there somewhere where the styles connected to the real tracks on the older real tracks are listed that one could print off for reference? I realize that the left hand column would get very large but this is information I would like to have so that I can play with them like I do from the stylepicker. I have never previewed all of the old real tracks. Now that I'm getting into them I would like to.

My preferred method of finding out about them is to go through the Demo folders using the jukebox to play back all the demosongs in a folder while I'm doing other work, such as posting on this forum.
When I hear something that catches my ear, I click over to BB and make a note of that particular realtrack demosong plus the style, etc. and keep it for reference. I just use a Wordpad file for that purpose. If I want to Print, I can do it from there.
i find this method much more productive in the long run over a long list of everything, BTW.
BIG TIP: I also like to rightclick and MUTE the Melody track when doing this. Just want to hear the accompaniment. This makes it a lot easier for me to decide if what I'm hearing might work with something I'm thinking of working up.

I still think it would be helpful if somewhere on the stylepicker or elsewhere that gives a complete reference to all the realtrack & realdrum SETS and track and instruments.
A Magic program as always, what a way it has come since 3.1 well done PG.
