For those of us on the forum who are considered senior citizens, there is a tendancy to put on a few extra pounds as sit around playing with our computer based music toys. As a result I started searching for a diet that was designed especially for Senior Citizens who may not be as active as we were at one time.

A friend told me about a special diet he was trying. When I asked him how it was working he said;
"Not bad at all, so far I've lost 9 days".

You can't believe everything he says though, the other day he said that he'd heard that the human brain was 75% water. He then got a puzzled look on his face and said "I would have never believed that until I met you".

:)

Toucher,

I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes a few months ago, I quit sugar, all except what is in fresh fruit which I still eat within moderation, and lost 35 pounds within 5 weeks.

Later,

I tried a senior diet once, but I found they were a bit stringy and way too tough...

Senior Diet . . .hmmmm - are we talking Mexican?

More like merry-nated with beer.

There's the scientific diet which requires that you reduce the number of corollaries
consumed per day.

i get pureed food in here so everything looks alike. i have started calling it ufo for unidentified food objects. often i go and check the menu to determine what i just ate.

anyone seen tara or the crazy cantankerous canuk, john?

the service center where i worked offered a senior discount so a young mexican gentleman demanded his bill be reduced accordingly. he got it!

I'm on a see-food diet. I eat all the food I see. So far I haven't lost a pound.

My grand mom eats four times in a day but quantity is very less. It keeps your energetic and avoids over eating and related problems.

I'm on a sea food diet. Every time I sea food I eat it LOL LOL
I do suffer from Irish anorexia.
My wife's cottage pie was condemned by health & safety dept.
Stay out of bed, and stay active, and eat rice and fish - and eventually you die.
My wife is on a diet. Coconuts and bananas. She hasn't lost any weight, but by hell can she climb a tree.
There's a new Chinese diet. Order all the food you want but use only one chopstick.
Gosh - I could eat a horse - a high protein, low cholesterol, sugar free horse, of course.
No man in the world has more courage than the man who can stop after eating one square of chocolate.

On a more serious note I too have had type two diabetis for quite a few years now. Been on that many damned tablets, I decided to ask the diabetic specialist at the hospital in March why I was on them. She agreed than I could drop more than half of them as some of the side effects were weight gain, tiredness, muscle weakness, wind etc etc.
Without being on a special diet I still amanaged to lose over 7st in weight since last September. Anyone with type two diabetis who are having problems keeping sugar levels down should ask their doc about a Byetta injection. Works for me, no side effects.
