I'm seen post on different websites about this problem but nobody seems to quite nail the problem down for me, I bet one of you PG guys out there can help me. When I use VST's with Sonar 8 LE I get dropped notes. This happens with Vista 32, Vista 64, and Win7. My win7 laptop is an i7 with 6 gigs of memory. Any suggestions would appreciated.

I use the full version of SONAR 8.5 and am not familiar with the LE version, but could you please be more specific about "dropped notes" with as much detail as possible? Which VSTs? Same performance with each?
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

I have the same problem with Roland VSC vst, and Calkwalk TTS-1. When I play a midi file some notes play and some don't, it's like someone is randomly hitting the mute button on different tracks.

The notes could be out of range of the synth. Have you tried playing that same midi file in Real Band or BIAB?

are your songs quite busy? Are there lots of midi notes and a lot of CC activity being sent at the same time? Hardware synths have finite polyphony, and it is possible to send more notes and CC data than they can handle (at which time, stuff starts falling through the cracks)
I don't know if soft synths have the same polyphony issues or not. On my Roland hard synth, one guaranteed way to drop notes is to add lots of individual CC volume faders to multiple MIDI tracks. CC data can easily double or triple the amount of info the synth has to handle.
