Pardon me if this is an old subject....
I need to give up my Windows-based laptop, and will be moving to a Mac. I'd like to bring all of my BIAB stuff over with me, but I know the products for Windows and Mac are separate.
Is there any way short of repurchasing everything to accomplish this? If I do, can I convert and/or port my songs?
I'm not a power-user, and still something of a newbie, but I really enjoy BIAB in the simple ways that I use it!
Any advice will be appreciated!!!
Edited: Sorry, I should have done more research. Yes, I see the "crossgrade" option now. But what about running the Windows version under "Boot Camp" instead? Any advice about the pros and cons?

I run windows XP under Bootcamp - BIAB and RB work fine using it. I was using Parallels for a while and that worked sort of okay but sometimes I had frustrating timing issues recording with a mic. The version of Parallels was a few versions ago so it might be better now after a few upgrades. For mine, Bootcamp is the way to go, particularly as it's free.

If you have the option of running BiaB/PC under boot camp, and don't mind the inconvenience, I recommend that you do so. The PC version of BiaB has historically run better and had more features than the Mac version.
If you do decide to go Mac, and if you have any of my disks, the Norton Music crossgrade is free if you download the files. I'll be happy to replace any PC disks with Mac ones. (The files are basically the same, the installation process is different).

I know my son runs BIAB PC on his MacBook using VMWare Fusion as a Virtual Windows XP environment. Of course, you've got to have a valid license for XP to do this. But it works well for him.

Hi,
No problems here in using BIAB 10.5, RB, and PT with Bootcamp. Be careful if you use peripherals like mixers etc. Make sure the drivers are up to date. Otherwise, lovin' life with a duel machine.

Like a bird migration I'd watch out for those windmills. I thought about it for a minute or two but bought a PC a big screen tv and a month's worth of gas for the same price. I hear Saudi princes all have Macs. I need an oil well first.
