I am a new user, using 2011. I am doing a test song, poking and looking the manual. I did figure how to do a intro and chorus with repeats.
However, measure 25 is marked "end" and measure 26 is the last measure in the song. I say this because after measure 26, the measures are in a dark grey. Although I can enter chords in the darker measures, they will not play.
I have searched the help files and the manual and CAN NOT find how to "add" active measures to the song.
Can anyone lead me in the direction of help in this problem?

Richard,
Right above the chord entry area are three boxes with numbers - I think the defaults are 1, 32, and 3. The center one allows you to specify what bar your song ends on. In your song, there must be a 26 there - change it to whatever number you'd like to be the last measure.

Check out the 3 buttons under the Loop and Fake checkboxes. The middle one is the last bar of the chorus. It is probably 24 - change to whatever you like

Also, if you want to add bars in a specific place, put your cursor on that measure and hit Edit, Insert bars.

Thanks for the advice. I did change the number in the "Bar for End of Chorus" box and all that does is extend the bars in the chorus, as it probably should. It adds the 2 bars, labeled "end" and gives me two active bars for an ending. I want to add an eight bar ending.
So, my intention is to have eight "active" bars as an ending. This is what I can not do.
It is probable an over-obvious key in one of the menus,but I can not find it. It seems to me a composition should be able to have more than two bars as an ending.

Look up 'tag' or 'tag ending'. This allows you to jump to bar x, and play from there to the end.
