Sorry to post so quickly, but this is the other issue I've been having with BIAB 2011. I go to my User Song folder to load songs for play, and then save to BIAB Favorites folder, to use as my play list. Every so often, on all MIDI tracks songs, I get a pop-up of the above error message. I then loose control of the GUI buttons and must Ctrl, Alt, Delete to crash out of BIAB. Does anyone know what might be happenening?
This has repeated 5 times this week. Always the same way. I have copied my User Song file from my 2010 BIAB version and pasted it into the 2011.

Hi J8stringer,
This sort of error is sometimes related to Windows 7 and Vista and the User Account Control. However, I see that you run XP.
How have you installed BIAB to run? That is, when you ran the installation program, did you choose to have it all on the internal hard drive or run it all (or part) from the USB drive?
Also, have you tried resetting to factory settings (under the Opt. menu)? I've found that this sometimes clears up gremlins that seem to creep in every now and again.
Regards, Noel

This is a brand new Audiophile HD, just 2 days out of the box. The installation files on the OS drive are the ones I got 2 yrs. ago, with that version. I was told they are a one time install. The new external Audiophile HD has the same location identity, "F" drive. This only happens on songs with all MIDI tracks, not RT or combo RT & MIDI. This did not happen on last yrs. HD, although last years had crashing issues. Is any one SURE a reset would do it. I just spent hours setting up my Favorites playlist, it would be a shame to wipe it out for nothing...

On a test computer, I just did a Return to Factory Settings with the Most option, and my favorite songs stayed. We're talking about the little F box, right?
Note that in version 2011, it will prompt you to save your settings first when you do the Return to Factory Settings. I did not even have to load back the settings to still have my favorite songs list.
SURE it will work? I'm never sure about anything on someone else's PC, but it worked for me.

Thanks Matt. Thats as sure as I need. I love the F box. When I got to run through my set, they are all right there. Just add as a favorite in the recently played window. The add button is on the right side. Takes you a while to load, then add, but once you do, there's your set list.

Ok, I did the factory reset. I did not loose my favorites play list. It is still happening on a slow bossa 65BPM, style MILESFNK. I loose control of cursor pointer, the the error message pops up: Access violation... These are songs I saved from my 2010.5 BIAB APhile HD. I copied my User Song folder and installed it in the same spot on the 2011 BIAB file tree. Does the message come from somthing in BIAB or my MIDI player (Rolands Sonic Cell)??
Why only on some songs?

That message *might* be caused in XP if you are using ASIO sound drivers in two different audio programs that are open at the same time.
If that is the case, try setting one of the two programs to Windows Sound. This can happen if we are trying to do Drag 'n Drop from BB to RB, say, with both programs trying to use ASIO sound drivers. I usually set BB to run MME when doing that, keeping the lower latency ASIO for RealBand, where I'm likely to need it to do more recording.
Don't know if that is the case at your end, but thought it worth the mention.

Does it happen on the milesfnk demo song? ('long song demo' in the StylePicker)'

Thanks Mac, but this happens while I'm practicing, so BIAB is in standalone mode, nothing else is open.
Andrew I tried opening the Milesfnk demo and there was no problem, no crash was needed. The song it happens on is one I made. A slow Bossa MIDI file from the BIAB library, mated to the Milesfnk style. After it starts up, 5 sec into it I get another pop up box saying somthing like "Duplicate call to possibly get wave buf", then the Access Violation... and I have to crash it OR I get BIAB needs to close... and it crashes on its own. I am not going to use this song and I will keep a list of the others it happens with. All RT file songs are fine.
How can I open this song without it playing right away? I would like to check how the eternal MIDI is set with this song (like maybe patches from the BIAB internal list mixed with patches from the external Sonic Cell module).

In the bottom of the Song Picker Windows on the left hand corner is a wee box with the note beside it "Play when opened". Uncheck the box.

I'm guessing a RealTrack is corrupted on your system.
Once open note the style and the tracks. Change to an all midi style. If ok, then open the original style and mute each track. Unmute One at a time and hit play and see what happens. Once found you can see if you can restore that track from your media.
That might just be the ticket.

Thanks John, I need that shut off to check things out. This happens on a all MIDI tracks song. The songs that are all Real Tracks are fine. I found the box, thanks a lot! I will check them and use the MIDI monitor (not that I'm a sys exe master).
