I would sure apreciate some assistance. I have been trying to post a file using "4shared.com" as my uplink destination. I can retrieve the first two files off an email if I send the the following:
<a href=http://www.4shared.com/audio/uGkKqE-C/bluxmasmp3.html> <a href=”http://www.4shared.com/audio/uGkKqE-C/bluxmasmp3.html”> These next two were also urlfile names in the same 4shared file but they dont open. <a href=http://www.4shared.com/account/audio/uGkKqE-C/bluxmasmp3.html> <a href=”http://www.4shared.com/account/audio/uGkKqE-C/bluxmasmp3.html”>
I then tried to name the link Bluxmas using the following examples <a href=http://www.4shared.com/audio/uGkKqE-C/bluxmasmp3.html>Bluxmas</a> <a href=”http://www.4shared.com/audio/uGkKqE-C/bluxmasmp3.html”>Bluexmas</a> <a href=http://www.4shared.com/account/audio/uGkKqE-C/bluxmasmp3.html>Bluxmas</a> <a href=”http://www.4shared.com/account/audio/uGkKqE-C/bluxmasmp3.html” >Bluexmas</a>
I based my entries on this information from google <a href="page1.html">Go To Page 1</a>
Sorry for the lengthy information but what am I doing wrong. Any help/assistance appreciated i.e. how to do it, is there a better file sharer, etc. Thanks. DennisD

Dennis, I don't know anything about 4shared.com, but in the code, only every second line is correct, syntax-wise. You must have quotes before http and after html.
Now, in those links, you have the word "account" but normally at that position, it would have something unique identifying you such as "dennisd" or whatever you used when you registered. Then "audio" or whatever the folder name is that they told you to put music in.
Finally, are you sure the file was saved with "html" as the filetype? Some programs use just "htm".

If you mean to post here so others can get there the syntax here uses UBB code in which the html code is embedded. You first use the long reply not the quick reply unless you want to enter the UBB code yourself. In that case you put in a left square bracket the the code url=http://www.whatyouwant.com then a right square bracket then some words like My New Song then a left square bracket and the code /url then a closing bracket. It's better to click below beside the smile faces the URL code and follow that and you will get the same result. If you don't like it edit it. John's SiteI hope that's clear.

Actually you don't need to put any code in at all, just the URL. The forum software makes it a link. Once you see the link in your post you'll be able to go to 'edit' and replace the linkied words if you want (like your google example). I will post **http://www.4shared.com/audio/uGkKqE-C/bluxmasmp3.html** below, without the asterisks and the forum will make it a link - http://www.4shared.com/audio/uGkKqE-C/bluxmasmp3.html
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

Sometimes the forum is smart.

Why no coffee? Ask for Coffee, Boost, and Maple Syrup...I lived on that until I couldn't swallow and got the dang tube, but I'd put stuff like that in and spit it out, once my taste buds came back a bit.
Just saying that makes me think how far I've come. If I could only really talk and not cough I'd be a happier camper but at least I can play my keys and horns and cough away.
Take Care...tell her I said a kiss would be therapeutic. Just a long peck.
I'm sure after teaching First Aid about 600 times over 30 years I'm dang close to a doctor. (In my deluded mind)!

You have to email yourself the link from 4shared. Once you have the link, copy it and click the "url" button here. Paste it in the box that opens and then give the link a name for this forum.

Don Gaynor, I agree. This is a place we can go to ask questions without reservation or embarassment without fear of ridicule of our abilities. I took the information given above and was able to post a url with a name identifier. I did a test on another post that worked so I have already deleted that post. Many thanks to all of you for generously sharing your time and knowledge. DennisD

Gee Dennis it's part pity and part envy. I'd like to live in Williams Lake, maybe. I think I'm too old. My son spent a year there, found out he was allergic to cows, horses, hay, and working as a cowboy. LOL. Now he's a professor. Took a long time to figure things out. I never did, and I think I won't. Or are you 'somewhere' else? I'd pan for gold but I'm my mule. I think. My youngest daughter calls me jackas#. But she's a teenager for 3 more weeks. She isn't interested in being a cowboy in Williams Lake, she wants to be a child care worker in England and is getting a visa. Is there a pattern with my kids? Well, so far 3 have come home.... The main pity is I want to live in BC but have spent the last 10 years caring for my parents, and now I'm in the same shape as they are. We parry with canes. Party on! I think 30 percent of the residents of BC fled Ontario, and the rest came from the far east. Take Care and 'have fun' as is said...

Hi John. Currently I reside in the sunny Okanagan (even better), but I have lived and worked in NWT, throughout BC, Alberta, Manitoba, Atlanta GA, New Orleans MS, Kansas City MI, Chicago Il, San Francisco CA,. I did however have a small ranch for 18 years had the horse, chickens and goats (milkers). I got out "your waaaay" last year to visit a friend in Callander a ways north of you. I played bass/vocal in a trio with him for a few years. He is an excellent guitar player and he was a close friend of Ed Bickert (coincidently was raised in Veron BC north of here and our sax player knew him then as well). Anyway I got to know Ed slightly but unfortunately talent doesn't rub off. I caught Ed at Georges Spagetti House a few times and that was quite a treat. Also took in Guido Basso Band who is no slouch either!Geez I wish name dropping could make me famous!!I know about caring for parents. I was the primary care for my dad even though he was in an intemediate home as he had had a stroke. But one still has to deal with all the medical stuff. Now its my mom. She is 92, macular degenerate, and still living on her own. I just got her a 8 bass accordian as her 120 bass is too heavy for her to hold. She still sings, yodels, and plays cowboy guitar. The older we get the more stories we have.DennisD

Hey Dennis, great stuff. I have an uncle, a WW2 RCAF and RAF Flying Officer who lives in Kelowna. We've been a few times, and he lives with my cousin. Must be 89 now. Great Guy. Nice house just a block or so from the Lake on the 'other side'. Have done the winery tour. And the sisters on the coast, I should be going to see them but we opted for Europe this year.
I bet you'll be in full spring in a few weeks. We have early light, and it's getting a bit warmer but we still have 6 foot snow banks and it's hard to drive, you can't see past the snow banks at the street corners.

My apologies to all the good folks I met in the South. My text line should have read: New Orleans LA, Pascagoula MS. My copy and pasting is somewhat like my guitar fingering on bad days---I miss the notes (words)! DennisD

202 New RealTracks Released with Band-in-a-Box 2026!
With Band-in-a-Box® 2026, we've released 202 incredible new RealTracks (in sets 468-488) in a variety of genres—featuring your most requested styles!
Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
And, if you are looking for more, the 2026 49-PAK (for $49) includes an impressive collection of 20 bonus RealTracks, featuring exciting and inspiring additions to add to your RealTracks library. You'll get new country-rhythm guitar styles from PG Music favorites Johnny Hiland and Brent Mason, along with modern-pop grooves that capture today’s radio-ready sound! There are also new indie-folk styles with guitar, bass, 6-string bass used as a high-chording instrument, acoustic guitar, and banjo. Plus, dedicated "cymbal fills" RealDrums provide an added layer that work very well with low-key folky styles with other percussion.
