Maybe it's just me, but I have the feeling the bass seems to be louder when its playing in four.
I use this RealTRack style a lot and during the first and last chorus when the bass player is basically playing in two it sound just fine, when he plays in four it appears to be louder.
Now, maybe he's not playing louder, it just seems that way. Perhaps someone might want to check this out.

That style is an all Midi style on my machine. I looked at the volumes in the style - the 'A' bass volume is 65 and 'B' is 70. Not that big of a difference.

Rachael, thanks. I didn't notice it all the time ... and sometimes not at all.
I did notice that on fast tempo tunes, it seemed louder. At any rate, if anything, the volume levels should either be the same or reversed, in my opinion.

Your original post said this is a RealTrack style. I don't think the Midi volume settings in the style would make a difference if using a RT. If you use Bar Settings to change levels, that would affect a RT.
Are you using a RT bass?

Just a general comment-
The Misc Settings of the Edit Style page has an option to allow volume changes with style. If checked, it will revert vols to those values... now there may be a setting that overrides that.
Also, on the same page is a vol adjust for audio 'a' and 'b' substyles of an Audio style.
This Misc styles settings has a lot of stuff going on- midi and RTs.
