Im sorry about having to post this up again but I didnt save the previous answers I received.After loading in a few styles RT,s only all I get is break up of the track..Im pretty sure someone mentioned that I needed more memory or hard disc space.I would appreciate more advice because its really doing my head in.thanks Frankie

Are you using BIAB version 2011?
If so, your machine might be underpowered for some of the new features. Go to Opt., Preferences, RealTracks. Check the box that says Use +/- Realtracks, uncheck the box that says High Quality, and uncheck the box that says Speed Up Generation. See if that helps.
You might also make sure nothing else is running that interferes, by downloading and running the DPC Latency Checker.

That should help but all of the new RTs that came with 2011 do not have those +- files so don't know what's going to happen there.

With those machine specs I would do as suggested above, plus double check that nothing is set to run in the background, like disc indexing, Windows Update, a/v scans, etc. You really need all of the cpu and drive speed you can get. And a reboot every now and then might help release fragged memory.

Oh - and if it's Windows XP, do a disk defrag.

Check your audio and midi drivers vs what they are set in Windows, they *should* be the same device(s). The format should be set 16/44.100 as well. If any of those two settings are off, you will get skips, pops etc . . .

Hi All,Just want to let you know that I did what Matt said first to uncheck fast generation and everything seems ok now.if I still get a problem then I will look at the other things mentioned.I really appreciate all the help.Thanks guys.Frankie

Something else on the subject:
There was a mention by Peter Gannon of a utility called Geekbench. While we were not told a minimum score required to run the new features of 2011, several of us reported that it worked OK if their PC was in the 1000 - 1500 or above range. Don't hold me to that number - it's not exact, because we didn't have enough reports. Frankie, if you get a chance, run it and report your number, since your PC seems to be on the borderline.

Mac Have recently done a defrag Matt will try the Geekbench but I also know I have to upgrade my computer saving the coppers to do just that..cheers again Frankie

That is a possibility. My Core 2 Duo desktop reads just under 4000, and my i5 laptop is about the same. One person here reported a reading of 6000. Yours is the lowest of the numbers I have seen reported.
