I like the pre-made backing tracks to play the melody with specially with the note screen. Has anyone used the Norton Music after-market products?
What do you think of them? Worth the money?

Thanks for the intro, Keith  Of course they are worth the money. A couple of years ago I ran the numbers, and a little over 97% of the people who bought either my style or fake disk(s), came back to order more (I couldn't write a better ad if I tried). So obviously 97% of the people thought they were not only worth the money, but a good enough deal to come back for more. However, if you are interested in my fake disk(s) and need the melody on screen, I don't have what you want, but I do have a compromise "work-around". The reason for this is licensing fees. The publishers of the songs wanted to charge me anywhere from $1.00 to $2.50 PER SONG to include the melodies and/or lyrics. Their reasoning was that anybody would be able to print the music out and that would cut into their sheet music sales. I explained that I could buy a book for about $35.00 that contains the printed music for about 500 songs and that worked out to about 7¢ per song. They said, "Then buy the book." That is why I offer the optional Fake Book along with my Fake Disks. This way you can get the melodies for 7¢ instead of a dollar or two per song. So if you don't mind reading the melody out of a "tree-ware" book while BiaB plays, it could work for you. But if you need the melody on the screen, the copyright holders say, "No." With each fake disk that has an accompanying book, there is a link to Amazon.com on the same page where you can purchase the book. Amazon has the lowest prices that I've found on the 'net, and can offer them for less than I can get them wholesale (due to their huge buying power). You can also get most of the books at your local music retailer and/or book store. In addition, on each fake book page there is at least one "free sample" song in Band-in-a-Box format (.sgu) so that you know what you are getting to help you decide if you want to buy the disk or not. Look on the right hand column, the one that lists all the songs in each book, and if it is a link, you can download that song and play it on Band-in-a-Box. I hope this helps. Notes ♫

And there is nothing to prevent you, as the private end-user, from copying the Melody line from paper to your BiaB songfiles and being able to have the Melody and even the Lyrics if you choose, on the screen. Copyright won't let you sell or otherwise share copies with copyrighted melodies in them.
