I don't know WHAT to think about this one guys.
This anomoly only occurs when I stop the song, then choose to continue again.
From anywhere, whether or not I regenerate.
Seems to be around beat 5 and 6...sounds like a quick "rewind"...maybe 300 to 400 milliseconds I'm guessing.
I've maxed out my AISO buffer to 2048.
Not sure what else to do...it's very annoying! Arg!
Simply too much audio to process? I have like a 2.4Ghz with 3G Ram...dual processor...sheesh.
No other programs are running.
Any suggestions?

You're computer is plenty powerfull enough, try switching to MME or a reboot and/or "return to factory settings".

Sometimes setting the ASIO buffer too high is almost as bad as setting it too low.
Experiment with lower a little at a time, or try MME if you have a lot of tracks. Often it's not the processor and RAM that can't keep up, but the hard drive, and MME uses much larger buffers to help with this.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Along wit what you've already been told, all good advice, there could also be something causing an Interrupt to your soundcard. IRQ share can do that as well.
BiaB doesn't stream from hard drive directly like a multitrack DAW does. The audio files are all loaded into ram at the first Play push, that's what you wait for. After that, any audio interruptions are likely to be from one of the above problems.

Eric, if you still can't solve this, perhaps two utilities will give more clues. First, get and run Geekbench and report your score. It measures relative computer power. http://www.primatelabs.ca/geekbench/Second, along the lines of Mac's post, get and run the DPC Latency Checker and make sure your system is OK for audio. The program has great instructions on their website. http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml

Yes, I have gray hair now...thanks.
I digress, I've chosen to opt for the MME option...and it pretty cool so far.
Guess I was under the false presumption that MME was a tired old horse.
But hey, for what I'm doing at this stage...if it stops the hiccup...I'm happy.
Projects eventually end up in my DAW anyway.

The real MME is a pretty dead horse. However, the implementation that says MME in BIAB is actually WDM. They just never updated the term as used on that screen.
WDM can work very well, especially if you want more than one program to access a soundcard at the same time (although I understand Steinberg just removed that limitation in ASIO). For most soundcards, unless the manufacturer says differently, a user should test both ASIO and WDM and choose whatever works better. Don't feel bad if that is not ASIO. The main reason ASIO should be chosen is if you are interested in getting the lowest possible latency during recording.
