This question has probably been asked before and if it has just point me to the correct postings. An old friend of mine who just retired from teaching is ready to start his BIAB one man band career. He's uses a Mac. Are there any advantages/disadvantages to one or the other or is it more of personal preference?

The Mac version of BIAB has traditionally lagged behind the PC version in terms of date of release and supported features, and this is still somewhat the case, although there are a few minor features in the Mac version not found in the PC version. The differences, in my opinion, have become fewer over time and are fairly minor today.
We have seen more volatility in the Mac OS resulting in more effort required by developers to keep the Mac versions up to date. This may cycle temporarily over to the PC version if Windows 8 makes major changes in its architecture, although so far this is not predicted.
Also, some users who must have the few features missing in the Mac version simply run the PC version on their Mac using one of several Windows emulator programs.

Jakob,
I do agree with Matt on his post. One feature that is a deal breaker for me is the lack of the lead sheet view in the mac version. Hope this changes soon.
