I got the USB Foot Pedal and it does work. My problem is there is a delay I can't seem to fix. It comes in a half a beat off and that isn't good! Does anyone know how to eliminate the delay? I need it to start immediately when I hit the pedal.

Probably a silly question: did you make sure that your hooked up to a 2.0 USB port and not a 1.x ?

I assume you are playing an instrument (or singing) and want the BIAB accompaniment to start as you hit your first note and press the pedal at the same moment. I also assume you are using a soft synth in your computer.
If this is the case you are in for a frustrating time to get it to work as you want - I know, I struggled with this for ages. The problem is all about latency and ASIO drivers and you will get lots of advice on the subject but I could never get things to work consistently without a delay. I eventually gave up and bought a sound module instead of using a soft synth and there are no latency problems.

MikeK, yes, I'm using a 2.0 USB port. I am playing an instrument, a Casio Keyboard that I am carrying the bass and rhythm on. I simply want to use BIAB for the drums only as my husband (the steel guitar player) doesn't want to be tied down to playing the song exactly the same everytime. The drums have to come in immediately after he counts it off! Trust me, it doesn't work if the drums come in a half a beat behind, makes for a very long night....
I guess I don't understand what a "soft synth" is. I would imagine you are referring to a sound module for your keyboard, right? My Casio doesn't have, as far as I know, a way to add a module. I have midi in/out but that's it. I'm not real up on all this so I'm sure I sound pretty stupid. I just know what I need, not how to make it work.

Hi Debby,
When performing live with BiaB, I worked out an illusion for the countin.
*Prefs Countin and set to Silent, but also set it to present the Visual Countin at the upper rh corner.
Now whan I start a BB song, the "1, 2" in the upper right corner gives me the Tempo and then I say out loud along with the last 4, "One, Two, Three, Four".
It is an illusion, but it works.

This may work but my husband doesn't want a loud count in and HE does the counting, not me since he does the kickoffs. I know, I know. Can we even BE pleased????
When I play live with him we are using BB as a drum machine otherwise I love the program and my friend and I use it when we play (just the two of us). It's just playing live that I'm having a problem. The drum beats are way better than anything my Alesis SR16 or my Casio Keyboard have.
I guess this just isn't going to work for me.....

If you are plaing a MIDI keyboard, have you tried simply setting BB to start when you hit any designated key, like the bottom-most ke on the keyboard?
Maybe that will take less time than using a footswitch, dunno, but thought it worth the mention, give that a shot.
BiaB is really not a drum machine, I've been asked to use it that way by folks who want to come and jam with me and found that while it can be done, it doesn't lend itself all that well to the situation IMO. But I always would have those folks use the BB countin or my voice as countin as described above.
These days my favorite way to countin is to set the countin Prefs to play two bars of the B drumfill and away we go. But I work predominantly in a Jazz situation, so.

Yeah, I've tried that, got that little latency problem again. I know it isn't a drum machine and I wouldn't change it for the world but I've been spoiled by the drum styles in it and had hoped I could use them. When my friend and I are doing a duo together we make our own intros and don't have a tempermental steel guitar player to contend with ) so it isn't a problem. Oh well, the band just have to deal with the sub-standard drum beats of my Casio when we don't have a drummer! Thanks for all the help guys.

I have been using a Delcomm for a couple of years. Works great. You could have it send any set of keyboard commands to bb. Excellent product.
