Band-in-a-Box 2005
I am only a plinker and use the PC keyboard to make my fun music.
So it seems that the newer systems do not sound the note exactly when I hit the PC keyboard key.
My very old PC (now out of service) did a much better job getting the note where I wanted it.
(1) any tips to getting the notes right the first time when I hit a PC keyboard key?
My PC has both PS2 and USB ports and is plenty fast. Much faster than my old PC. but there seems to be overhead that keep the notes delayed a little too much.
(2) is there a way to make a Roland keyboard work like the PC Keyboard. i.e. black and white keys do not play there assigned note but simulate the PC keyboard? Step by step help please.
(3) How do I automatically align notes to the melody? I think I remember that my Band-in-a-Box 2005
could do that. Looking for tutorials on how to. Step by step help please.
It has been a long time since I have worked with all of this. I am now retired with too much time on my hands.
An remember, I do not know the terminology so it is difficult for me to search for anything.
I hope to be soon up to speed. Well, my speed anyway.
I am 69 and rather slow so be gentle.

How do I automatically assign notes to the melody? Big "M" Melodist button . Don't know about Roland QWERTY . ASIO drivers play the sound faster with little delay ,some people use ASIO for all drivers.

If you are referring to the Band in a Box QWERTY Keyboard Wizard, that always picks a harmonious note according to the chord at the time, it should work on the Thru track when using a MIDI keyboard as well. See the Help, the .pdf manual or the online FAQ for particulars.
I cannot remember if that feature was in version 2005 or not, though...

yes I want to use the QWERTY Keyboard Wizard.
I cannot play a real keyboard but i do have a Roland PC-200 MK II.
It would be fun it the Roalnd could work like the PC Keyboard for QWERTY Keyboard Wizard.
You got me. What is ASIO? Stands for?
Nothing in the Help about ASIO.
Googling finds too many entries.
Does PG Music have this ASIO as a download?
Am I correct that it would allow my USB keboard to be faster?
Not sure I understand how that all plays together.
I have both PS2 and USB keyboards available.
Will do a little more homework but all this new terminology is overwhelming.
A little more explaination please.

Yes i want to generate a unique melody using QWERTY Keyboard input.
And I waould like to use my Roland PC-200 MK II because it feels much better than the PC Keyboard.
but if I have to, then the PC Keyboard it is.
I did this back in 1998 and some in 2005. Now I have all the time in the world (lol) to play around and have fun.
Remember i do not play any instrument and barely read sheet music.
Just enough to be able to see what is happening.

Why not drop PG Music an email and ask them if they have any archived video resources for BIAB 2005 available? They may not have any but it's certainly worth asking about.
