I'm considering the purchase of biab 2012 pro...my question is....I notice it only has 3 styles I really only play classic rock & blues.... I want to record my guitar & voice along with the biab...is this possible with the pro version?....thanks

The "core " program is the same (Identical) across all versions and therefore all have the same recording functions and abilities. http://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.packages.htmOnly difference is "addons". General recommendation is buy as much as you can afford.

Only difference is "addons". General recommendation is buy as much as you can afford.
Ditto, but remember you can always purchase more styles. However my bet would be the packages are priced so they would have an advantage over picking and choosing certain styles.
Either way jump in as you will be surprised at the creativity BIAB will unlock in your mind.

Thanks for the input...guess i'm confusing biab with pro tools etc....I think I understand the style sets now but still confused wether or not I can record my voice & guitar...where is the interface for the guitar & mic?..thanks

You will enjoy BIAB ! Go for it. If you don't have one already, you will need some sort of audio interface to be able to record into REAL BAND (part of BIAB purchase) or into BIAB itself. No matter your particular genre of music interest, it really pays to purchase the largest BB PAK that you can afford, so that you have as many Styles and Realtracks as possible available for your use.
It is often the case that I will cross genre listings inside Band in a Box in order to create a backing for a certain song. Just because a certain Realtrack, RealDrum or even MIDI based style is listed as "Country" in the Stylepicker does not necessarily mean that it won't work well in a Blues, SmoothJazz or other genre. This also can get the creative juices flowing, having the ability to enter the chords, etc. for your song and then suditioning many different Styles and instruments playing it back as pros would.
And then there's the educational situation as well. Being able to access all the different styles and genres can teach the old dog some new tricks. Just because a particular lick may be part of a Jazz or Country or Pop song does not mean that lick cannot translate to, say, a Blues idiom - and add a new trick to your personal arsenal.
So, if you can affor it, get the fullblown package.
Advantages are that you will pay far less for that in the long run as versus buying additional styles and/or Realtracks/Realdrums packages piecemeal. Quite a savings. Additional advantage is that when newer versions are released, which happens at least once a year, sometimes twice, the price of upgrading is very affordable, especially if you act in a timely fashion because new releases are always accompanied by a sale upgrade price for at least the first month of issue.
