Hi BBB,
What version of BIAB do you have? Also, what is your operating system (XP, Vista, Win 7) and is it 32 bit or 64 bit?
Regards, Noel

Hi Matt,
Making sure its running and not disabled. A lot of people said that fixed their issue but it didnt for me.
Upon further research (Googling) When I started seeing Are DNS Servers configured properly? Is a port being blocked on the firewall? etc etc.Registry problems.... I thought uh oh this is beyond me!
Thats why I thought Id post here as it seems to be a Band in a Box specific problem.........because I only get that error message when trying to print in B Box. Printing works fine in all my other programs.
btw this was never a problem with earlier versions of Band in A Box.........hope this helps, Thanks!

Thanks, we're getting closer. I teach programming, so I know what a print spooler is, but I wanted to see if you did. I'm puzzled by your DNS/port/Registry paragraph, though. Are you printing on a network?
It could also be a symptom of malware. Have you run a scan of your system for viruses and malware? Malwarebytes is good and free.

Hi Matt,
Thanks for staying with this....... No network I thought that could mean something to do with my computer and B Box server.......but the fact that you dont have to be online to use Band in A Box the DNS probably has nothing to do with it.......?
Because my knowledge on this stuff is so limited, I rely on google and it usually helps me to find a solution where I can follow step by step instructions. I usually end up learning something also.....
But in this case I seem to be running into some advanced stuff Im clueless about....making it more difficult.
I will try the Malwarebytes thing now as I like both FREE and good! Thanks. I will keep you posted

Bob, I always print my BIAB songs to pdf (because it's a more convenient format to email to friends). I then open the pdf in Adobe Reader and print them out as a hard copy. With the above in mind, it might be worth trying a pdf printer to see if that works. (I use Bullzip pdf printer - it's freeware and works excellently; here's the LINK). After you've installed the pdf printer, it's found in "printer setup" from BIAB's printer dialogue window. Below is the sequence that I use to print my songs ... 1. Go to Lead Sheet view and select "Print" 2. Select "Setup Printer" 3. Select "Bullzip PDF Printer" as my printer and set the paper size to A4 (since that's what we use here in Australia. You probably need to set it to "Letter". 4. "OK" my way back to the BIAB printing dialogue box and select "OK Print". This creates a pdf file which I double-click on to open in Adobe Reader and then I print my music from there. I know that this doesn't solve your problem, but it might offer you a workable solution while others are working on your issue. Hope this helps, Noel

The scan by Malwarebytes is good news: 0 problems. Now I suggest you call PG Music Support.
In the meantime, printing to a PDF is a good workaround.

Could BiaB have been installed to the Programs folder?
If so, that might be the problem.
C:/bb is the default (and better) choice for ths install with Win7.

Ive been using the clipboard and copy & paste in word than save as PDF for a work-around but I will try this PDF printer if I understand correctly that will eliminate a step or two of my current workaround

When I click printer set up in B Box I get the same error message! I have 8 printers and fax when I go to control panel
Could this be part of the problem? In printers and faxes I have listed Adobe PDF, Bullzip, PDF Complete, PDF Printer, Microsoft XPS Document writer, HP Office Jet Pro, Send to one note 2010
Im going to right click and remove device on all of them except my main printer HP Office Jet, Adobe PDF and Bullzip and see what happens.........

Bob, When BIAB sometimes stops doing things that it used to do, I always reset it to factory settings (Under the Opt. menu). In 2012, I always choose the top option first off and, if that doesn't do anything, then I try again with the bottom option. You'll need to exit and restart BIAB for the changes to take effect. (I usually restart my computer too, just to be sure!) Also, have you installed the latest update for BIAB ver. 2012? (It's #349 found via this link.) Regards, Noel

Good.
Next thing, have you ever run the BB Installer on this machine?
When running from the supplied USB hard drive, the Installer must be run if only to install the printer Fonts for BiaB (which are necessary to print notes, rests and a few other things) and also to install the pgmusic plugins. These things must be installed to the C: drive as they are the only parts of the program other than DXi plugins and synths that must write to the registry.
BiaB itself does not write to the windows registry, which is a cool feature IMO.
Anyway, without those fonts installed, I'm thinking Print Error.
Just install the BB program itself, plua the fonts and the plugins, to the C: drive -- you do not have to check the Real Instruments, which are rather large in size.

THANKS Everyone! IT WORKS!
Mac, I re-installed the application from my 2012 disc and it worked immediately/ I updated to build 349 and it still works!
This is a lesson in that a complicated error message with a lot of numbers dosent mean the solution has to be complicated!!!!!!!!!
Thanks again Everyone!
