I opened a standard MIDI file with existing melody. Some important strings have been copied to the soloist track and the melody was left on the melody track. The realstyle I use is _FOLK16D. Fine so far, but .........
I'm really stuckin' with
*inserting a single 2/4 bar into that 4/4 arrangement at bar 41 AND *setting up drum fills different to section ''A'' or ''B'' markers.
Any help welcome....

Oh, those random 2/4 bars in folk music, gotta love 'em.
I haven't tried this, but save your work and try this on a copy of your song: go to where the 2/4 measure would be, press F5 and change the beats per bar value to 2 (it probably says 0, the default that normally means 4). Then go to the next measure and press F5, and put in a 4 to restore the rest of the song to 4/4.
If that doesn't work, or if it messes up the melody placement, it is possible in the Melody menu to timeshift the melody. Write back if you need more info on that.
As for the drum fills, it sounds like you already know about A & B, blue and green part markers, by left clicking on the measure numbers. I don't think there is any other way to control the drum fills. If you meant something else, please explain.

That's the same idea I had. Result: Everything after bar 2/4 +1 is messed up completely.
In the meantime I deleted 2 beats from the melody to continue my arrangement (It's not really what I want)
Maybe some idea with placing breaks (realstyles) other than on section markers. (Songwriters don't really care about biab limitations and I would like to make a playback from a TOP40 song)

I'm not at my BIAB computer now, but yes, I expected the melody would be offset and that's why I mentioned time shifting it, rather than deleting.
The request for fills not associated with part markers has been made on the Wishlist. Wouldn't hurt to go there and do a +1, or make a new request if you can't find the other one(s).

Done! Now there is ONE reply for "Drum Fills Within a Part" on BiaB wish list. Maybe (If you find some time) and this would be important for you as well: Could you do a "A+1" on "Drum Fills Within a Part"??
I think that is the best way to tell the developers what the market want's. Before the number of replies was ZERO.....

Done.
Although I did not check, there may be only one request now, but the search function is very limited in time. Rest assured, this has been requested in the past.

You can put part markers anywhere you want; they don't only have to go at section ends. If you are in an A section, just put another A marker in the middle of the section to effect the fill in the bar right before the part marker. I hope that made sense.
Or am I misunderstanding what you are wanting.

After changing the specified bar to 2 beats, we must also do the same keystrokes involving the bar hat follows that bar and CHANGE IT TO 4 AGAIN.
Otherwise, all bars following your change will try to be 2 beat bars.
If that doesn't do the trick, try using the File -> Insert Bar(s) command and Insert a single new bar at the point in question. That should move all the rest of the bars one to the right while adding a single empty bar. Then use the F5 command on that bar, change it to 2 beats and again don't forget to do the same thing in the following bar, changing to 4 beats again.

THIS really does the trick! I didn't explain previously but I changed in the version described before back to 4 beats after the bar with 2 beats. It seems that INSERTING A BAR AND APPLYING THOSE CHANGES IS REQUIRED!
