Here's another one I haven't been able to figure out on my own: Can you, and if so, how do you change song styles in the middle of a song? Thanks super knowledgable and helpful friends!

Assuming you have a fairly recent version of BIAB, just press F5 at any bar. You'll see "Style Changes at Current Bar". Press either the .STY or OPEN buttons under that. Hover over one of the buttons to see the difference where it searches for styles.

I've done it easily and effectively through the bar settings dialog with styles that are midi only. I've had little luck with styles that involve real tracks/drums. Have others had similar experiences?

Real tracks ar not effected by Styles. AS you have discovered only Midi instruments adjust accoding to the style. RT's are simply audio recordings. So Brent Mason will Jam the same exact phrases over a blues or a Rhumba.

well.........it will play the phrases arranged differently depending on the weight in the patterns in the style. So it actually does make a difference which style you use. Which is probably why there are different weights in 2 different styles using the same real track

Never heard of such a thing, but there is indeed some magic in how RT's play.

If I am wrong I apologize but it seems to me by changing the weights in the style patterns the different riffs are played more or less often. It would be nice if someone from the dev team would affirm or confirm this. 1 = _BALADE.sty 2 = FIREW_E.sty 3 = PSYK2_E.sty these are 3 different pattern sets for the same realtrack (number 367) & show that smaller or larger selections of the the whole realtrack file are used in different patterns. I hope a dev can answer as to why these are different if they don't play differently (I'm certain they do)

I;m not on the dev team, but, YES, the Style Pattern weight numbers do control the automatic selection of Patterns availability.
Very Good Idea to Save the Style under a new name when doing this, so that you don't overwrite the original style and thus lose its functionality.

You can't mix and match MIDI and RealTracks styles. If you start with an RT style and then try to switch to a MIDI style mid-song, it will just keep playing the RealTracks, which over-ride the MIDI tracks.
If you are mixing and matching, then I suggest using either only MIDI or only RealTracks styles, in which case changing mid-song is not a problem.
