I Have Pro Audio 12 and a midi of 16 tracks in there. It PLAYS fine, with the expected fade out and decay of the last note BUT when I convert each track to WAV file (merge audio & dxi track to stereo wav) the final note just stops dead with no decay.
Why does it not convert what I can hear? Is there a way of extending the .wav track conversion time to include the decay of the notes?
I've been a long time away and I USED to be able to do it but can't remember how?

You might try inserting a "do-nothing" MIDI event out past the end of the song. You can use the F2 key to do this.

Hi John
I used the F2 key and got a menu. What I did was to add a "note" and call it "invisible" at 140.00 (2 points after the end) and that seemed to work OK. It seems a long winded action to have to do that for all 16 tracks but it IS a good workaround.
I was sure that all I had to do was set the track cursor at the 140 mark and it would render up to that mark instead of the end (138.00) but that doesnt seem to work. Poor Old Brain cells can't bring to mind what it was I used to do.
I wont be ignoring you but I am away gigging for next few days (back June 10th) as it is Royal Jubilee Week here in the UK and there is lots of work to be had this week. So - fill yer boots!!!

UPDATE - Looks like I only have to F2 ONE of the tracks and make an "event" a couple of points further south for ALL the tracks to render to that new point. Seems to work anyhow and now I have been able to turn a lousy mix on the original midi into something a lot better.
ps - I did try to do this is PTP12 but every time I re-played it the sliders all reset to the original positions even though I had "saved" it. Should I have "saved as - - "??

Fades in Midi have a number of difficulties and I would suggest that you try removing the fades in Midi, either CC7 or CC11 and Fade your final Mix track in Audio using the Audio Effects > Gain Change > Fade Out selection. This has the advantage of being able to Fade at any point and repeat (via Undo) until you are happy with the result.
