Hello.So can I get this application up and running if I do not have my own internet provider/connection? I.E. I use "hotspots" like Cafes, etc. to connect to the internet? What I want to do is use the application outdoors for accompaniment-provided by a small device,as I am using a laptop computer right now. Also, is the Android version of the Application just as good?

Hi there,
Welcome to the forums.
To use the Band in a Box iPhone app, you need the Windows version of Band in a Box 2011 or higher running the server on your personal computer (this app is not stand-alone). If you wish to connect via hotspots etc you will need an internet connection to your home computer so the app can communicate with your Band in a Box server at home.
The Android version has all the same functionality as the iOS app.

Hello Will.
So,for clarifications sake,the phone/app. cannot connect with the server directly,but needs to go through my desktop connection somehow? Ergo, I have to have my desktop running and connected to the internet/server to use this app,right? Sorry,it seems kind of limiting that way,especially if one does not have a permanent Internet Provider at home. I would think the phone and app. would be able to communicate directly with the server through the internet, but I guess the technology is not there yet.Maybe later....

The server in this case is your PC / Desktop; so your conclusion is correct, you have to have your desktop running and connected to the internet to use the app. There's no way to use a 'PG' server at the moment, it has to be your PC/Desktop.
