Still looking for a way to split out the Drum midi channel 10 to external drum synth. Ok I know I can do it in RB but I loose to much flexibility to make changes in the song structure, like adding a turn around at some specific measure, just click BiaB make it blue or green and now you have a turn around, not in RB. Change the midi drum volume slider worked in RB but the volume don't change. Oh and how about changing song styles in the middle of the song, if I load a BiaB song with style changes RB drops the drums after the style change, so never did figure that out, other then drop the midi track from BiaB to RB, now have the style change but I lose all the turn rounds again. I think RB is a great Midi, audio recorder and track sequencer but to build a cord based song with in RB, nope. It just seem to me with all the flexibility of Biab somebody was asleep at the switch when Microsoft drop the real Midi mapper after win98 and they never incorporated the ability to map the midi channels like you can in RB, I've used BiaB since 2006 but this little thing is starting to really bug me. So............ Looking for a Midi mapper program like use to be in Win 95 or 98 would take the BiaB midi channels and allow me to decide what sound synth would be used to generate the sound. Like send the Piano sounds to a real good ext. Piano Module or in my case the ext. drums to a good drum synth. Running out of ideas except find another BiaB replacement program or back load win 98 and see if my 2012 ver will run. I'm not optimistic about finding a answer just hoping somebody may have a idea roger

Hi Roger, When you said, Quote:

You can do that in RB. All you need to do is to switch from "Track" view, to "Chord" view. I've highlighted the button below.

Once that is done, the chord sheet behaves same as BIAB with adding part markers. You will need to regenerate the song though. BIAB regenerates automatically whenever a change is. Realband is different in that it waits until the user instructs it to regenerate.

Hope this information is useful to you, Noel

Unfortunately, BiaB, unlike RealBand, can really only address one MIDI synth at a time.
However, if you are using HARDWARE MIDI synths for both drums and other instruments, it is possible to use the internal settings of those synths to set one for ch. 10 only and turn off ch. 10 on the instrument synth, then daisy chain the connection such that MIDI Out of computer goes to the first synth and the THRU of that synth connects to the IN of the second synth.
If using Software MIDI synth, there are aftermarket programs such as MIDIYOKE and MIDIOX, one of those is able to allow routing the one output of BiaB to two or more synths, but it may prove to be a setup headache over time as you have to invoke that every time you start BB for it to work.
