I have a midi file that I created in Finale. When I import it into BIAB as a melody, there are eighth note rests that are gone, with the preceding notes being lengthened by an eight beat. I've imported lots of other midi files from Finale this way without this issue. Has anyone experienced this sort of behavior and is there a way to prevent it from happening?

I'm thinking that the Durations of those notes are too long for the BB automated notation.

Hi Mac, thanks for the reply. So for example, the Finale file has an eight note followed by an eight rest, but BIAB imports it as a quarter note, no rest. Do you mean that somehow the eighth note in the Finale file is too long for BIAB to interpret as an eighth? Also happens with a quarter note followed by an eight rest appears in BIAB as a dotted quarter with no rest. I wonder if there's some setting that would compensate?
Weird thing is that I've done this dozens of times between Finale and BIAB and never had this issue before.

I've experienced what Mac mentions. Sometimes the below works, sometimes it doesn't ...
Go to "Notation Mode", select the "Opt" on the left side of the screen (immediately above the stave) and then deactivate the "Minimize Rests" option found center bottom of the menu that pops up.
