I just noticed that BIAB refers to Csus as a "sustained" chord. Couldn't find any mention of this in a forum seach.
Isn't it a "suspended" chord?

Yes, it is a suspended four. Where is this reference?

You can find it in under 'chord list" in the help index. It's also on the PGmusic website: http://www.pgmusic.com/tutorial_chordlist.htm

Good catch. I can't count how many times I read this and didn't notice the error. Suggest you report this to support@pgmusic.com

I've looked at the list before without noticing either.
I'll send them a note if they don't notice it here in the forum.

Which could mean it was sometimes correctly worded? If so, I feel better about not seeing it.

I've noticed "Sustained" instead of "Suspended" for years in BiaB and just figured it was an alternate term, perhaps Canadian or English that I never heard of and simply translated it.
Alternative term? Canadian or English? Yes, I also translate semidemihemiquavers too!

ah, but a "sus" chord when HELD for a beat, or two, does sound more sustained than suspended I seem to remember (long ago, in a galaxy and far, far away) I had seen a few pop music, not teaching or classical books, for GUITAR that called them, incorrectly, sustained chords not suspended. Also this seems to be a more common mistake then you would think http://www.christianguitar.org/forums/t23261/talking to "kids" at the local guitar music store they too might easily refer to them as "sustained" chords

=================== Sustained is an alternative term. Since suspended is more common (and more correct), we switched to the term suspended years ago, but some mentions have survived. I call them sus chords, so haven't thought about it in a long time. ==================== http://en.wikiversity.org/wiki/Introduction_to_ChordsSuspended(Sustained) Chord The suspended chord, also called sustained chord, is symbolized with "sus" or "sus4" (e.g. Bbsus | Bbsus4). Another version of this chord is symbolized with "sus2" (e.g. Bbsus2). The 4 type combines the first, fourth, and fifth note, while the 2 type is first, second, and fifth. Bb - Eb - F (Sus4) Bb - C - F (Sus2) ==================== Btw, this issue was already corrected, so only applies to older versions of BiaB documentation.
