Those of you who want to say hi from time to time, you know my email.

Had enough of this and won't log in here again. PG will not cooperate and delete my login, but I won't be back no matter what. People constantly asking for opinions and then arguing about your reply..... All the condescending nonsense, all the posing by people who can barely write a coherent sentence...

Bye all!

Eddie, Eddie, Eddie - I could feel your blood pressure raising as the day went on. Take a breck. Work on some music. Party over the New Year Eve. Then we will all chat here in the forum in the new year.

Why oh why are there so many emotional types in the music bidness?

Eddie, a thick skin is required.

Mac -

It is, perhaps, the definition of success (in this business)....

Emotion - surrounded by a thick skin. Quiters - fall by the wayside....

Eddie,

this is a routine event around here, and it works as follows:

1) on the first hissy quit, the forum rallies and encourages the person to stay.

2) on the second hissy quit, not as much

3) if there's a 3rd hissy quit, there might be no replies at all.

Usually the person that quit yesterday feels like posting again after a good night's sleep. Don't let a low blood sugar mood swing put you in a situation where you have to swallow your pride in order to get back something that you know has been fun for you.

I quit years ago, Eddie, but still return as a lurker, mainly, as I still get good info from guys like you (too many others to mention here) I have written some angry responses but usually before I post I quit this website. I feel better having written it and even better that I was strong enough to "not post". Doesn't always work as a recent event showed BUT.....
Anyway keep posting your songs, mate, as they are always worth a good listen

Alyn

Eddie.

I know exactly how you feel - a couple of weeks ago I got to the same place, but a kind PM from Pat Marr made me think again before I did anything rash.

The forum only survives because the good people outnumber the difficult ones and it would be a shame if it was deprived of your wisdom and humor.

At the very least, I hope that the songs which we've got in the system at the moment will eventually make it to the showcase.

ROG.

aye Eddie, there's good & bad on every large forum on the web. I was on one a few years ago where even death threats were made for ***** sake !! I just ignore the numbskulls and enjoy the gossip with the decent members, of which there are many.
If some git's really annoying you simply use the ignore button, then you won't see his / her posts.
Cheers Eddie have a good new year mate

Hi

its not easy to get a thick skin when you have five brothers its something you get from a early age if not a could have given up music the first day i started i did not let it worry me and it ended up they all thought i was the bees knees at playing music,i think, its sadthat some people have to upset others and there is no need for it,after thirty years working in a news agents you get back what you give out if your nice 99% of people are pleasent back and it makes thing very easy and enjoyable, best wishes for the new year i hope a few will make a new years resalution to be nice to all

regards Dave

I personaly think a good dose of perspective is required. We have to see the product and the forum for what it is, we arenot actually saving the world here?

Reality is that we are all real life people here and we all have an opinion and in some cases the software is so good that it make some of us seem more clever and important than what we really are ....

AT THE END OF THE DAY (did not realy want to say that) we all share a common interest and shoukd make some effort to get along. Its a question of live and let live, give and take etc.

I have personally enjoyed Eddie's contribution/s ......

I know I can be very blunt and direct. I know I have the ability to offend people. It happens all the time. Just does. It's not intentional. Just my way.BUT if any of you feel I'm one of the culprits and you'd prefer to have me back out please just say so.Just quote this message and add a +1. I'll understand.

John, we have a lot in common as I also can be very blunt and direct.

I know that I may have offended Eddie when he was asking why people use other DAWs instead of RB for the umpteenth time when I said go back and re-read my posts and you will see why. It wasn’t intentional but that was just the why it came out.

To answer your question NO I do not find you offensive in any way.

Musicians and portrait painters are perhaps the most sensitive artistes on the planet. I imagine that Beethoven and Chopin were very delicate people to deal with. They were so far ahead of their time. I doubt if I would want to be a band member with either of them nor to trust Vincent Van Gogh with anything sharp. Now, put several of those volatile personalities together in a band (or music forum) and watch the fireworks. I hope that Eddie will reconsider before whacking an ear off.
