I have just been looking in the Tips and Tricks forum and found this post by jazzmandan http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=389873&an=0&page=0#Post389873 'One for us Guitar Players'. I can't seem to get a setup as shown in the post. I can get the guitar chords to show, but not with the chord name above it, also is there any way to edit the guitar chord diagram to play the chord in my preferred fingering. Glen

Just contacted 'Live help' and the guitar chord diagrams are not editable anyway, I was hoping to practice different chord fingering positions - Oh well it looked promising !!

I made a suggestion in Wish List for exactly what you want...a "chord dictionary" imbedded into the BIAB guitar chords but I think got ZERO other posters to support that idea..which really surprised me.
Sure, there are plenty of FREE chord dictionaries around...I have several...but the issue is PRINTING the lead sheets and if you want the chord diagrams you are stuck with whatever version BIAB selects.
I guess that most other guitarists who use the software have a VASTLY wider "vocabulary" of chord fingerings than I do...which ain't sayin' much.
To remember all the fingerings...you need a memory. I used to have one but forget where I put it!

PS: There is a nice FREE version of a nototation program called MuseScore. It has an imbedded chord diagram function with just about every fingering under the sun. But you can also create and save your own fingerings.
So, for leadsheets, I print out the BIAB verson without guitar chord symbols...just the chord names for other band members...then print out another version from MuseScore with just measure bars and chord diagrams.
That works fine for me...but gives the other band members BIG LAUGHS!!!
But since such diagram generators are free it would seem to me that they wouldn't be all that complicated to incorporate into BIAB....but what do I know????

See what I mean? ZERO interest in an imbedded chord dictionary!!

And WHY is the past tense of EMbed...IMbedded?
If I had the power to embed some logic into the English language, I would have imbedded the word "embedded" into it long ago!!

I agree with you Jim, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to incorporate 'editable' guitar chord diagrams into BIAB. This would make it so much better for Lead Sheets and playing from the BIAB Lead Sheet screen while the backing is playing.
