I need some help.
I am trying to record my acustic grand piano with mics connected to the Omega Lexicon Audio-Interface via BiaB.
I press the "record audio" buttom and the VU-meters appears. They react on in- and out going signals. When I playback the recorded track everything sounds an halftone higher. furthermore the recorded track is slightly behind the beat. What am I doing wrong?

Is it possible:
You have a 'bit depth' configuration issue between the song/file and the settings of your audio interface and what bit depths it supports.
Just a shot from the hip but I recall these sorts of issues in the past and bit depth configuration/assignments may be something to eliminate.
Hope that helps and you got a bump for a fix.
Carry on....

This can be caused by a sound device being set and locked to the wrong bitrate.
From the description, I would suspect that the Omega is set for 48KHz instead of Band in a Box's native 44.1KHz.
Somewhere in the software control panel for your Omega there should be a place to either set it manually for 44.1/16, or maybe there's a setting that allows the host program to set the bitrate, either one should correct this problem.

Hi,
sorry for the delay but I was searching for a solution and could not find nothing. The situation now is,
1.) I select in the Audio Driver Settings and put the Audio Driver Type to "ASIO" 2.) I select Asio´s Driver Control Panel 3.) it appears "Error creating Asio Puffer" 4.) than the Lexicon Omega Control Panel appears. Samplerate is set to 44100 5.) when I quit, the following message appears:" Error starting Asio Driver".
There is no signal on the VU meter with the Asio driver. Only with the MME Driver.
I am pretty confused.

I have found that my USB sound or MIDI devices *must be connected and recognized by the Operating System BEFORE opening Band in a Box.
While some of the other audio programs I run will recognize a USB device when it is plugged in while the program is open and running, Band in a Box does things differently. Presumably this is because BBW.EXE does not write to the Windows Registry, enabling it to run standalone, but that's really just conjecture on my part.
So if you've been connecting the USB device *after* BiaB has been started, try closing BiaB down completely, then reconnect the device and then start BiaB up again and see if the error messages go away. They do in my experience with several other USB devices, but unfortunately I do not own a Lexicon to be able to test that here.

Mac, Thanx for going on helping ... I closed BiaB completely. I disconected the USB from Lexicon and conected it again. When starting BiaB the following messages showed up: Error: creating Asio buffer Error: starting Asio driver When starting recording the same 2 messages appear plus the following message: www.cisum.info/access.jpg

Go to the manufacturer's website only and check their Support pages, see if they haven't released a driver for your Lexicon and OS that is dated later than the one you are currently using. If so, download and install it following their directions.
Often is the case that Drivers, just like other softwares, get updated and rewritten to solve certain issues. Maybe this is the case here.
If it isn't, installing new drivers shouldn't hurt anything and is always reversible, its just software.

A brief google suggests the drivers are an issue with this unit. Some are using ASIO4ALL with reported successes.

Hello,
I find that with Lexicon devices, it is occasionally necessary to do the following to combat the "Error Creating ASIO buffer" Close Band-in-a-Box and any other audio program using ASIO.
1. Navigate to the Control Panel -> Sounds -> Playback tab 2. Specifically do "not" set the lexicon as the default playback device (choose anything else) 2a. Do the same in the recording tab (choose anything but the Lexicon as default) 3. Go into Band-in-a-Box and try to use the ASIO again.

Hi Cudo, I posted this on a thread call "Error creating ASIO buffer", but it might be useful here.
I have had this same problem (Win 7 x64) with BAIB 2013, ASIO4ALL, and external USB sound devices (ART and TonelabST-not Lexicon), and discovered that it would resolve if I started another music program which used ASIO4ALL (Reaper in my case). I played with both RealBand and BBW and discovered I could cause the problem by removing a device (internal sound device) from the ASIO control panel from within either program. Then I would get the same error you describe. Restarting the program wouldn't help. My first solution was to start Reaper and configure ASIO. Then the RealBand and BBW problems disappeared.
I discovered that the problem could also be solved by choosing an MME driver, playing something in RealBand or BBW using the MME driver, then EXITING (critical to exit) RealBand or BBW. When you restart BBW, you can choose an ASIO driver and configure it, and it works.
It may later redevelop, which it will on my computer if I start RealBand or BBW without my USB sound device connected. Then ASIO4ALL defaults to the internal sound. If I then try to remove that internal sound device, the problem will always recur.`
You might try this and see if it works for you.

Hey guys, here am I again,
after trying all your suggestions I finally came to the conclusion, the problem is Lexicon Omega and not BiaB. In earlier times I did run the Omega on Windows XP 32bit and everything was fine. Now, even with Cubase and Sibelius there are similar problems.
I don´t no how and why, but meanwhile, after changing a couple of constellations, I have choosen the MME driver and all of a sudden it worked! I won´t change and touch anything anymore. :-))
Thank you for your help.
