I experience the following problem when I load a new (Real Tracks only) song into BnB 2013 maybe 1 time out of 10 or 12 loads: 1 There is no audio, even though the music is playing -measures advance, I can see notes changing on the keyboard display 2. There is nothing wrong with my audio playback devices and they have worked with all of the prior song loads. 3. I can always fix this problem by simply clicking on Opt then Midi Audio Driver Setup, and then simply clicking on OK. No changes are made, but tech support tells me this resets the Audio settings. This always works and also shows that the sound system is not the problem. This is not a life threatening problem, and I can live with it, but it should not happen. Tech support has never experienced nor heard of this before. However I have had this problem for many years, on my Win XP 64bit system and never with Win XP 32 bit. The XP 64 bit is a rare bird, so I figured it was perhaps a quirk of the unusual OS, but when my brand new Win 7 64bit system did exactly the same I thought I should find out if there was a fix. I'm very certain that it only started from the time that I began to use Real Tracks almost exclusively. I called tech support and had a nice chat and the tech checked my system and found nothing very unusual that would account for the problem. Since it takes awhile to happen it is not easy to reproduce in a very short span of time. Since, I saw the problem with different audio hardware (Edirol FA101 Firewire, Native Inst Komplete Audio6 USB) using different software drivers, I think we can rule out audio hardware and drivers. If you have also had the same experience please tell us and send a note to tech support too. Thanks, Dan PS I've recently uploaded some music with the latest SWAM Tenor Sax on soundcloud here: https://soundcloud.com/dstong/i-concentrate-on-you-by-cole-1https://soundcloud.com/dstong/nature-boy-by-eden-ahbezYou can also hear French Horn etc. if you look around: https://soundcloud.com/dstong

Try turning off all Windows Sounds by setting them to None, then open BB and see if the problem persists.

Dan, I have never had this problem with BiaB. However I have had the same problem with Sonar X1d on rare occasions. 64 bit Win 7 appears to loose the audio drivers. This doesn’t happen often, only about once a week or so but it is annoying. Because it happens so rarely I have not been able to figure out why. Reselecting the audio setting works in Sonar also.
I also have all of my Window sounds turned off and this music computer is not on line so no anti-stuff is causing the problem, as there is none installed.
I believe that this is an OS problem and not a Cakewalk or PGMusic problem.
The bumper sticker said "I'm a veterinarian, therefore I can drive like an animal". Suddenly I realized how many proctologists are on the road.
64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware

If using ASIO sound drivers with Band in a Box, make sure that "ASIO Always On" is checked to true in the Audio Settings. This may be the problem here.

re: Mac
Thanks for your idea which I was hoping would fix the problem. Alas, I looked at the setting and I've always had it set for "ASIO Always On", so I'm afraid that's not fix.

Dan -- If found set to "ASIO Always On" -- did you try UNchecking that and see what happens?

My live rig is win7x64 and it has never done this. Not once with RB. I've played a lot of gigs with it.
