I'm having a problem during playback. I press play and adjust the mixer to what sounds good. When I press play again to go thru again the volume drops way off but I don't see any faders move. I move the combo volume fader up and it sounds good again but every time I stop and start the volume has fallen off. Anyone seen this? Thanks

Just a wild guess. Are you freezing the tracks after you set your volume sliders?
If not what MIGHT be happening is that you are regenerating the song and the volumes go back to default settings.
So try adjusting your mix....freeze the tracks and then hit play.
Best,
Jim

Another wild guess:
Did you save the song after adjusting the faders?
And which version of BIAB do you have? If it is 2013, there is a different between Play and Gen/Play. In earlier versions, Play regenerates the song.
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

It is 2012. I tried freezing and saving. I can also make it happen by pressing replay, then bumping up bottom combo fader, then hit pause. When I continue by pressing Pause the volume goes down. Weird.

OK. Are you working with a song that started by importing a MIDI file from somewhere else?

No, just keyed in the chords. I think now it has to do with Real styles since it appears that some songs have this issue and others do not. Problem appears on zzbossa for example.

No, just keyed in the chords. I think now it has to do with Real styles since it appears that some songs have this issue and others do not. Problem appears on zzbossa for example. some of the older styles do indeed have Volume data imbedded in them. "zz" styles are the oldest, and there you go. HOWEVER, there may be a way here. Prefs-> Override and take a look at what you can uncheck there, like Volume. This is a Global Setting which will affect all songs. Also, on the main Prefs window, you might experiment with the "Environment Options" -> "Okay to Save/Load Reverb,Vol etc. w/Songs" command. --Mac

Crashkahuna, did you have any luck getting your volume settings to save when exporting your mix? I came across the exact issue that you described. I am working with a Real Book song that I found on a BB forum. I still can't get my volumes to render properly when I export mixes to use in the BB iPad app. So annoying.

Look for imbedded Volume commands in the songfile using the MIDi Monitor and filters. Remove them.
Also, certain Styles contain Volume data as weil, which can override whatever you've done to the Volume. This may be harder to overcome, depending, but there is a global setting in the PREFS -> Override that will tell BB to ignore that data when loading.
There's also an old command in the File menu -> Save Song with Patches and Harmony that can be used to override Volume settings in a particular songfile. Once you have set the Volumes to your liking, and while the song is still playing back, go there and check each part to playback on left, then be sure to examine and check the right boxes for Volume to save with song on the RH side.
