The original music was about 13 minutes. Wanted 1 chorus version, so
used window and changed from 3 chorus to 1.
This set music length to 4:58, acceptable for this type of music.

Am using Realdrums and 5 instances of Dimension Pro and Rapture.
Check stereo
Check normalize
Check all tracks.

File rendered to 135 meg for each track, music was/is there, including
then ending at 4:58.
However, the melody track keeps on playing to 13:04 minutes.

Went back right clicked and set the 1 chorus music ending measure and
set it for chorus ending.
Also set next measure for start of ending.

Rendered again with new name. Same problem.
I did just go back load BIAB with song played it and the ending
worked just fine. Then the auto-repeat started entire song.

Direction to go...Naw don't want to go there....

Thanks in advance.

.
Make sure you direct the 'Render" window to deliver the rendering to the same folder as the one where the original BiaB file resides. Rendering is designed to work this way.

Frank,

Sounds like the melody track is still 13 mins long (hence the 135 megs - approx. 10 megs per minute). I wonder if you've somehow used the "Copy first chorus to whole song" when you initially created the melody.

I suspect that the answer to this is to kill the entire melody under the Melody | Edit Melody Track option found via the topmost menu bar.

Regards,
Noel

Hey folks, great responses, will try out when it cools
off in the house.

Mac,

Darn it! do that often, but didn't cross my mind.
Will try bit later today when house is cooler.

Harvey,

Good question, but no in this case its not frozen.

flatfoot,

Funny you should ask that. For couple years my work folders
are Year month. All BIAB sgu,mgu files go in to "1_13 July"
for this month. BUT, always render to "1_13 JulyWork".
Never had a problem with the rendering at all.
Will give it a try later.
BTW, Just this morning when doing a fly-over noticed this.
DA, should have immediately followed up on it.

Noel,

Did not overtly do any melody copies. Whoa on the kill part....
The melody is midi, and currently really great. I will explore
it a bit further.

FrankB...being me...

Will check out all the above late this evening.

Couple of grays on my part.
1. the 5 instances of VSTi's really eat memory.
Did not math total them all, but just the mid-weighted grand
uses about 500 meg in its sample. So probably sittin' around
750-800 meg in all the instances.
2. There's gotta be some kind of marker, that has been skipped over.
Have run into this problem before, but only a few measures past
the music ending, so just clipped them off.

Folks really appreciate all the suggestions. Decent song title
"Final Journey" and with some great artwork "Bridges to the Neverland"
by outstanding artist(with permissions). Music nice fit so have
to resolve this.

Thanks to you all!

Mac,

No Luck on reset...

flatfoot,

There "may" be another gotcha which tried to eliminate.
Making sure the song name is different.
Did make sure the render was in the song folder with new name.
This is not at you... but results THZZZZZZZZZZ no luck there
either.

Rendered a previous song, worked just fine..
So then am taking on Noel's suggestion on the killing of
the melody.

Noel,

Killing the melody does allow normal length for rendering.
Mistake above, it is now about 51 meg with 4:58 minutes.
But I lost the great melody.....

Now have to figure out how to save melody and import back in.

Its now 87 in my room.....bummer...Hope PC doesn't melt.

Workaround...
Eliminated all tracks except Melody(problem track). Did a render
yielding 13 minutes.
Then reloaded entire music, killed melody, render 5 tracks 4:58 minutes.

Loaded all the wav's into RB. Working on the editing. Simple cut
of the extra 8 minutes of the melody.
Whatever happended will try not to do it again....LOL

Hi Frank,

For future reference ...

Another approach that might have worked when the song was set to 3 choruses would have been to use the "Erase from ... to ..." function that's found under the Edit menu.

With this function, set the starting bar and then how many bars long the section is (#1); select which chorus to apply it to (#2); and have only "melody" selected (#3)

Regards,
Noel
