Can anyone tell me if there is a way to better space the lead sheet in BIAB? I have a ds al coda and the $ clashes with the chord symbol above. I also see notes above the staff very close to chord symbols making it difficult for someone to read. I do not see any thing that leaves me to believe it can be altered.

In the notation screen, push the 'Opt' button on the left and in the resulting Notation Window Options, on the right you can change the Chord Vertical Position up to 10 ledger lines above the staff. The program also moves chords up if there is a clash ( sometimes, anyway). Individual chord entries can also be changed by right clicking on the chord and using the instruction "Chord height adjustment" There will still be some clashes. For instance, depending on the number of bars per page, you may have chords clashing with the lyrics above. Believe you me, it is much tougher for we trombone players working in bass clef with most of the notes on ledger lines above the staff. There really are quite a few ways of making adjustments to the printout but it does not mean there will not still be some problems. A Paper Mate Correction Pen and a calligraphy Pen are my only other suggestions. I use mine quite a lot.  Also a bit of a tip: If you do find a printout that works to your satisfaction; keep a copy of it with a note of the settings you used. I know that PG Music and the experts on this forum always point out that BB is not a notation program but it is so perfect for lead sheets that I think a few notation improvements would be very well received by users in general. Not to mention we addicts. 2014 maybe?

I'm one of those who uses a notation program, but that's primarily because I learned the notation program before BIAB, and I've used BIAB for over twenty years!
Just so you have all the options, there is a free music notation program called MuseScore. It has the unique ability to read BIAB files and transfer the chord information as well as the MIDI notes. Try it and see if this is something you might like.

When you click on the print icon, lower the size of the font from 24 to 20 or 18. That will create more space between notes. Later, Ray

Thanks for the info Matt. I have a copy of MuseScore that I've never used. Didn't know about the interface with BIAB. I'll have to check into it. But as another poster suggested, White Out and an ink pen work wonders!!! (-: Jimn

I just loaded musescore two days ago and have been working with it. I did not know I could transfer BIAB files to Musescore. I'll have to check that feature out asap.

Note that MuseScore doesn't do a perfect job of creating lead sheets from BIAB files - see the thread I started entitled
"Chords displaced on leadsheet".
In this instance, it couldn't handle songs in 3/4.

I was hoping that I could use MuseScore as an intermediate process to get a Music XML file from a BIAB score. Unfortunately, that feature doesn't work well. I give MuseScore credit for reading BIAB files but their free program needs improvement. I hope it gets better, and/or other notation programs add BIAB support, and/or BIAB exports Music XML in a future version.
