Any suggestions for installing 2014 to cut down on clutter from older versions but still keep all of the styles etc.
1) I can either install to the prior directory
OR
2) Install to a new directory, but then I probably need to install styles that came with the 2013, and possibly older versions etc.
Since I keep all of the Sound Files in a separate partition, that will not have to be moved at least. What files need to be installed from prior versions? How to avoid overwriting a newer version of the same file?
Any suggestions from someone who really knows the program really well, and perhaps just gone through the install ?

Dan, we installed over 2013 with no problem. I've always done that, so I don't have to worry about losing bonus pak offerings along the way.
BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Slate VSX, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Dan,
Install straight over the top of the existing version. That's the best way.
That way, you will keep all the bonus paks that you've built up from multiple installations.

What I always do is to make a backup copy of my BIAB folder, then install right on top of the main BIAB folder. I've never had a problem doing that, but I've always got a backup, just in case.

Based on the sheer size of this program.... I simply install it to the defaults and it installs over the old one.
Never had any issues with losing anything.

I also recommend simple installing new versions of BB right overtop of the old.
Another very good reason to do it that way is that any and all of the songfiles and songfile folders that you have already saved will still be right where they were after the new installation.
Band in a Box has its own Backup files and system to restore to previous versions, so that's not a big worry. And in all these years, I've never had to resort to use of the backup system in order to go back to a previous version.

So far, with that approach, you never have to worry about one time free, or one time specialty items in plus paks/add-ons like 101 riffs, songbooks, etc. from year 19xx or 20xx NOT being there or you forgot to move it, save it, etc.
However, anything I ever owned or created on any PC going back to my first I have electronically saved, in one form or another that is still at least SW emulator retrievable, in at least two locations with one not being the house.

Thanks for all of your replies. I always have backups and the only reason I asked was because I have some current issues which PG Tech support was not able to fix. That is the other reason I was hoping for the 64bit version.

That is the other reason I was hoping for the 64bit version. Intalling right overtop of the old is still what I would recommend trying first. The Install replaces so many of the critical files, I doubt that any problems from the previous version would carry over. --Mac
