I like the new "Jazz Font" (per video) which is actually called "Big Band" in the font lists. But it looks like it will will not show jazz symbols (which I prefer). So a C half diminished displays as Cm7b5, but I can't get it to display C0. The only way to show that is to revert back to "Jazz Chord Symbols" Fonts. But I want both - the more elegant "Big Band" font with chord symbols. Can it be done?

Not right now.

I've reverted back to the good old Jazz Fonts - and have gone into Prefs -> Display and twiddled with the Fontsize and unchecked the Automatic number of rows thing and set it to 16.

Yields a nice, BOLD looking Chord Font here that I can easily see, with more Chord Real Estate to view, plus I get my desired Jazz Font abbreviations.

That works okay for now.

Bear in mind that the new GUI is still a work in progress: We've been promised a few more goodies, available thru the free update downloads that are sure to come.

I always tweak my settings so that I have 'proper' fonts everywhere. I confess to being puzzled as to why anyone would want faux hand-written script fonts!

I use the Jazz fonts because I like the chord extensions in parentheses. As < C13(+11)>. The other fonts display as <C13+11>. Later, Ray

This is an interesting topic. Although we encounter all sorts of ways to write chord symbols, we each have our preferences. You could put in a Wishlist post to create a new font with the modifications you like. Perhaps PG Music can address this down the line.

Well, now I like the good ol' fat Jazz Chord Symbols just fine after all.

What Skyline said. Hard to understand why PG spent any time at all on the font thing.

Best,

Some of us old jazzers and chart readers LOVE it.

And, it makes leadheet printouts that we love, too.

Hi Kelso, Yes the BigBand font is a great looking font. It does have chord symbols in the font, we haven't implemented that option. We plan on adding that as a free patch to 2014 in the future (the option to display BigBand font with symbols like C-7 etc. As you mentioned, we do that for the JazzFont now.

Have Fun!
