I added chords in BIAB and saved as BIAB song.
Opened in RB .... chords show on chord sheet.
RB generated a real drum track on its own ... and thats the only thing that plays.
The other tracks above it seem to be filled with midi notes, but they do not play.
They do not show as muted ..... I did something wrong ... not sure what.

Did you add asynth in the synth rack? Do you have a synth setup as a default synth? Go to preferences and see waht is setup.
HP Win 11 12 gig ram, Mac mini Sonoma with 16 gig of ram, BiaB 2025, Realband, Reaper 7, Harrison Mixbus 9 32c , Melodyne 5 editor, Presonus Audiobox 1818VSL, Presonus control app.

Occassionally the tracks have no syn and are on channel 0. Set a syn and set the track to something other than 0.

Have you checked that the blue S is not engaged. It's next to the title box; on the lower left hand side.

Every option shows "None" in the Synth dialog. Track 9 was generated on it's own when I opened the file. Do not know what Track 8 is. It played fine the 1st time it was opened. I tried adding a few realtracks, and it still played fine. But I did not save when I closed. Next time I tried opening, nothing's playing but a very slight sound of a drum beat.  Thanks for you'alls replys.

It shows that the Microsoft Wavetable Software Synth is chosen.
Do you have any other music software open and only minimized at the time, say maybe BIAB? Does it also point to the microsoft synth? That could be it. Close other audio programs fully before opening RealBand so that it can select the synth (and possibly the audio card, too in some cases).
Do you use that Microsoft synth for BIAB also?
Have you installed the better sounding VSC DXi synth that comes on the BIAB disk?

My volume got was turned down for Microsoft SW synth ... sorry. I would lke to use the VSC DXi .... how do I apply the changes to an instrument ? I tried to have a different guitar for track 4 channel 7, but it does not change when I choose a different guitar from the VSC dialog Thanks for the help.

Choose the instrument in PowerTracks (not in the VSC panel) by right-clicking on the Track and selecting it from the "Program" submenu.

Instead of changing each track manually .... is there a pref to set tracks to always use the VSC synth?
Is there a way to have RB open to a folder I choose ... I changed the setting in File Path but it does not save when the program is shut down ?
Real Drums (track 9 in above pic) was generated on its own .......
no option to choose the VSC synth ?

Set the VSC DXi to be yout default MIDI synth in Prefs -> MIDI -> Devices.

One way I know to have it open in a certain folder is to go to Prefs --> File and check "Automatically rebuild file from last session. This will load the last file you had open and thus put the program into that directory.

Prefs --> Song Generation, there is a checkbox "Allow RealDrums" -- unchecking that will make a global situation where all Drums tracks will be opened as MIDI tracks.

If you mean choosing instruments (program #'s) - you can audition instruments in the VSC panel if you want while the track is playing, but the only way they would "stick" is if the track was set to No Program # (---), and they wouldn't be saved with the song. If you mean that you want all MIDI tracks to use the VSC synth by default, open the MIDI Driver Setup and check the 'default DXi synth' checkbox.

There are a couple options. You can set Options | Preferences | File -bootup in folder of last session. This will open the most recent folder that you were working in. Or, if you leave that option UNCHECKED, you could right-click on the desktop shortcut or start menu shortcut you use to open RealBand, and type the folder you want to start in (for example E:\MySongs). You could also use the custom open/save dialog (Options | Preferences | File), and then File-Open will have a favorite folder button that you can use to get to your folders quickly.

Track 9 is RealDrums, so is an audio track. If you want a MIDI Drums track generated instead, you could click on the Song Settings button and uncheck Allow RealDrums.
