This may be similar to an issue that Ian had earlier. Not sure if it is the same, so... a separate post.
I loaded a style: _CAIRPGS.STY (CltAir wGuitar,Piano,Strings[85])
It loads a Super Midi track in the Piano slot. Later I chose an RT piano in that slot and there was no sound. SampleTank was still listed in the PLugins in position one - so I set that to None.
Then the sound nearly blew my ear drums. I have to turn that track down to 7 (as in, Seven). Can't go past 10 (that is not a Spinal Tap joke) because it is BLARING!
If I call up another Super midi track, the volume reacts correctly - can turn it up to 127. Replace it with another RT, and have to turn it down to 7, again...
Anyone?

Posting a link to both files, before and after, somewhere on the web, so that we can download it and take a look is the best way to handle this one, I think.

Not sure if I can recreate the "before" file. I could create a new SGU with the same style, but to test whether the same thing happens, it would become the "after" file. Here is the SGU. Zipped. (the song is called "Choking"). http://floydjane.com/Songs/SGU.htm

Downloaded file, opened in BB, sounds great, played with Vol fader from end to end, then set the existing Tracks to levels quickly and Rendered what I heard to mp3: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ptm4jl944tf42ex/Choking_mp3Render_Mac%27s_Machine.mp3 So I don't think it is in the songfile. Might have been due to lost or corrupted machine resources at your end, a shutdown of all proggies and a reboot generally clears such things up here. If that doesn't do the trick, it may time for the Return to Factory Settings, don't be timid about that one, often it is the way to restore lost functions and cannot be avoided. But try the reboot first. Good sounding work there! --Mac

Appreciate your efforts. I rebooted my machine. I did a full factory reset.
Did not change the result. The first gen of the song, once again, there was no sound from the Piano slot which contained an RT (piano). Went to the plugin tab, double clicked the first slot which showed SampleTank. When the plugin form comes up, it shows None in the first slot. Close that and now the sound returns - LOUD. As if it runs through its entire span from 0 - 10 (11 - 127 are unlistenable - loud, then, of course progressively distorted).

Hi Floyd check this out - http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=235797&page=1I had a problem with this Style too. Support are aware, it IS a bug and Rob is will be working on it (sometime?). But it would do no harm to nag them and send them an e-mail too. cheers ian

When I had the file open here, there was a Piano listed on the Piano Track, but it was not playing. The file opened with the Fader for the Piano track turned all the way off. The Piano heard in my Render is the RT Piano, which was found on the Melody track. Am going to take another look sometime today. Seems this may be the same bug that was already reported, perhaps. --Mac

Yeah, that is where it has to be on my machine (7) - or it will blow everything off the shelves. I did not want to take the chance that it might blow your speakers. I would think the best "test" would be to create a new song and load that style - it loads a SuperMidi piano in the Piano slot. After generating once, swap that out for an RT piano and see what happens..

Was able to get the exact same BLARING PIANO track from that file this morning.
At first, the Piano could not be heard at all here, just like yesterday, no matter the Fader setting.
RightClick on the mixer ID slot and saw that SampleTank was invoked - but the track is in Green, indicating that it should be a RealTrack. So I picked the first entry in Sampletank window, highlighted that to say Okay to no send to Sampletank and BOOM, there's the blaring piano alright.
Wanted to see what would happen if I RightClicked on the Vol number slot and changed it to "1" - and all sound stopped entirely then, on all tracks, although the Transport kept moving.
Shut down BB, then reopened songfile, got the sound back again.
Removed Sampletank again, but this time immediately did a SaveAs under a slightly diffefent filename.
hit Open and reloaded the songfile with that new name.
Removing SampleTank lets that realtrack Piano play when song is opened, but it is still blaring piano.
Interestingly, before doing that SaveAs after turning off SampleTank selection, I always would get the Regeneration wait state for RealTracks when just hitting the Play button - which should not happen.
After the SaveAs, hitting Play does not force a regeneration every time (as if I had changed something in the file - but I hadn't changed anything).
Houston, we have a problem.
On the other hand, the file sounds great with that Piano muted and the other one playing, don't think I'd want two Pianists on this gig anyway...

Ian, I have worked with Rob on a couple of things in the past. In the latter part of last week, I ask for Rob specifically. I was told that he is no longer with P.G. Support? That may, or may not effect the outcome of the speaker busting volume BUG as mentioned earlier.-----Leon

I loaded it in my system.
Sounded good but the piano was set to 6 and when I dragged it up it did get really loud.
so yeah.... ditto here.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.
