In BIAB, is there a way to stretch the bars out horizonally, so I could have more space in-between the note to enter the lyrics? Right now the lyrics are not lining up with each note and they are getting crammed. I've tried reducing the size of the lyrics and then I have a hard time seeing the lyrics. I have tried the "move lyrics ahead to timeline" in the lyrics column and the "timeshift lyrics" in the lyrics column and I could see any improvement. I tried looking around in the option area in the notation window and tried a few things there as well and nothing seems to work. Do you have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated.
I don't worry too much about the 'look' of the lyrics as they appear in the notation screen, but I am concerned how they appear in print format.
You can control the number of bars per line in the print version as well, but the size of the bar is always dependent on the bars per line. Fixed bar length. BIAB will try to print the lyrics under the note, but, especially with a series of eighth notes, it can be a problem. It is also an issue at the end of a line, where you may only have lyrics on the last couple of notes in the bar, and BIAB prints one of them as overflow. It seems BIAB is happy to let lyrics flow past their note, but will never start them early to fit them on a line or allow the last one to go beyond end of the staff.
But note based lyrics do stay with their note, so playing with bars per line will usually work
