Hi,

Does anyone know how to get around a continued tie (first bar to the second bar) if the second bar is on the next computer screen?

You would think BIAB would go to the next bar, on the next screen automatically. So far, I can't make biab do this. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Might be an issue that there is no, "half tie" symbol set to choose from.

Hey Solidrock,

delete my last post. It is "options" in the notation window that you were referring to. No, that is not what I was referring to. That only widens the bars horizonally.

What I am referring to is....let say, you have 4 bars in front of you on your computer screen and you specially are working with the 4th bar. That 4th bar starts a tie and it continues onto the 5th bar, but the 5th bar is not on your computer screen-you cannot see the 5th bar visually at this point unless you scroll the mouse. If you scroll the mouse to the 5th bar, you have dismantled or discontinued the tie in the 4th bar.

I realize normally that a tie is suppose to place itself automatically. But in this particular situation, I am visually working with the 4th bar visually, at this point. FYI-The 4th bar is the bar that is the farther bar over to the right. When I try to adjust the duration in the staff roll mode , to continue the tie, I run into the computer screen and biab wont automatically go over the next screen so I cant see the 5th bar. The 5th bar is out of my scope visually because its the next bar over. Hope this makes sense to you. smile

It would help if we knew whether you were in the Leadsheet Window, Chordsheet View, or some other place.

Anyway, try Opt., Preferences, Display. Uncheck the checkbox for Auto Adjust #rows and experiment with different values for Number of Rows.

Yes, changing number of bars, number of staves per page if in Leadsheet View, those type of things would likely shift the placement of that bar to where it doesn't get split by your screens.

Hi Matt,

Im in the notation window.

Per your instruction, I dont see the "auto adjust" in the display tab. Currently looking around the see if "auto adjust" is under some other tab in preference.

PS: FYI-Last night, already tried the "scroll ahead" of 1 or 2 bars under the notation options box and that didnt work either.

@Mac,

I will look into the leadsheet view (as I have not spent alot of time there so I dont know what all of the options are), but I dont think you can edit in leadsheet view. I need to stay in the notation window so that I can edit.

Don't try to change anything in your 4th bar. Click on the arrow at bottom right to advance to the next 4 bars. Your tie should be there. In Notation mode you can change the view from 4 bars to 8 bars. I'm not completely understanding your problem, so disregard if I'm wrong. Later, Ray

@ Raymb1,

From your post, Ive looked around biab and both your statements below, I cannot find where you are talking about. Please explain further.

"Click on the arrow at bottom right to advance to the next 4 bars."-where are you referring to? In the chord sheet window or the notation window?

"In Notation mode you can change the view from 4 bars to 8 bars"-where are you referring to?

Thx

The command I cited works in BIAB 2013.

In he notation window there's a sideways v (arrow) in the bottom right corner. When you've entered your last note in bar 4 click on the arrow to advance to the next 4 bars. In the same notation window click on Options to change the number of bars across the screen. At the top middle of small window is the place to change the number ob bars across the screen. Hope you can make this out. Look for "Notation Window Options" in the manual. Later, Rayt
