I am using Melodist in BIAB and it is such a cool feature. I love part of what it generated and wish to replace the remainder. It looks like that should be possible. In the dialog I choose to generate melody and I choose to generate Part of Song and I enter Bar 13, Chorus 1 and # bars 12. But when I then generate the melody it has replaced the melody throughout the song, not just in the bars I specified.
Does anyone know how I can get this to work properly? Or maybe I am doing something wrong?

You can only do this in Realband.

You can only do this in Realband.
Good Luck! well, I knew that is true when dealing with RealTracks but this is MIDI and the Melodist actually has options to generate part of the song.

Good Luck! well, I knew that is true when dealing with RealTracks but this is MIDI and the Melodist actually has options to generate part of the song. I think FrankB has stated the best answer. Real Band certainly handles this properly. BiaB may be able to do some things at different levels, e.g. chorus by chorus, but Real Band does it at actual user specified levels, including specifying which bars, giving you the best versatility.

John BiaB can do what you want. Just make sure that when you regenerate a few bars you have the form box set to NO FORM and NOT AABA.
I just did what you wanted no problem but only if the form box is set.

I just did what you wanted no problem but only if the form box is set.
