When I get a song to a certain point where I feel I can come back to it and continue it later, I save it. At that point, I have chosen the instruments I want, the style, etc. Sometimes that includes tracks muted because I might be coming back tomorrow to finish the solo or whatever. I figure all that should be saved. When I load songs sometimes, it sounds funny . Then I see that maybe one track is either on or off that shouldn't be according to how I saved it prior. I sure don't want to have to re-mix every time I load a song. Shouldn't BB remember what I had on and off etc. when it is saved so it will play the way I saved it?
p.s. Is the only way to post a song for criticism by having a web page?

1. Go the the File Menu top left.
2. Choose in the Drop down list Save with Patches and Harmonies.
3. Press the radio button to populate the list. Some have reported better performance doing this while the song is playing.
4. Save it with either the same name or the new name, ie Wonderful World v1.
That way you have a backup when you decide you do not like version 2 or 3 etc...

Do what John says, investigate everything in the little window first.
Also, Muting is not saved if you Mute up top. It is only during that particular session that the muting applies. BIAB will repopen with all parts unmuted. By design.
Instead, use the Save with Patches and Harmony window, UNcheck any parts you don't want to hear before saving.

Oooh, that is something new I have not tried. I guess I like to spend 90% of my time making songs, and 10% looking around. I try not to click on something if I don't know what it is because things change later and I can't remember where I changed something.
