If you look at my prior post, "How do I specify repeats when entering a song. ", you'll see that...
I am entering a chord sequence and repeating it 12 times. Each time, I transpose it up 5 semi-tones, which walks me through the circle of fourths. Works GREAT.

But, although I probably shouldn't mind, I do...
I want to see flat-keys, not sharp-keys.
I want to see Gb, not F#.
I'm almost embarrassed to ask for this, but BB seems to allow many preferences so I thought I'd inquire.
Thanks

Have you tried manually entering the enharmonic chord you want? In other words, where it says F#7 you type Gb7.

Are you using BIAB 2009?

BIAB 2025 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 7 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus 192 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

Yep, that's what I do. Just overtype the F# with a Gb. Either in the Chord Window, or in the Notation Window by right clicking on the chord and then 'Edit Current Chord'.

You can change every one manually like that, or you can go to the Notation Window ->Opt. and uncheck "Use chord scale for enharmonics" in the middle column towards the bottom. Then, if your main key sig is set to a sharp key, the F# will come out as an F# both globally and automatically.

Cardinal23,

Over the years I have noticed that on some occassions the changes I have made go back to what the software wants it to be. I.e., I have changed and saved a F#7 to a Gb7 only to open the tune a week or so later and walla, it's back to the F#7. I have just learned to live with it, however on some occassions when I am playing live I have a little chuckle to myself when that F#7 pops up again.

Later,

If you chose to change them manually (or you can do this if you want to update an existing song), it might be worth the time to wait until you finish the song input, then use the Edit...Search/Replace chord menu option to change them all at once.

There has been much assistance offered.
Thank you.
And this is NOT a big problem for me - but I guess it has become a challenge.

I originally posted the following:
http://www.pgmusic.com/ubbthreads/showfl...&PHPSESSID=
Let me summarize it.

I needed to enter ii-V7-I for all of the keys.
I wanted 4 rows for each key.
So I entered the following:

Start |:
Row !: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 2: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 3: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 4: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
End :|

I had asked "how can I avoid having to enter this 12 times?"
I didn't want to have to enter...
Start |:
Row 1: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 2: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 3: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 4: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 5: Gm7 C7 FMaj7
Row 6: Gm7 C7 FMaj7
Row 7: Gm7 C7 FMaj7
Row 8: Gm7 C7 FMaj7
.
.
.
Row 48: Gm7 C7 GMaj7
Row 49: Gm7 C7 GMaj7
Row 50: Gm7 C7 GMaj7
Row 51: Gm7 C7 GMaj7
End :|

So Mac explained the Transpose each Chorus feature. I used 5 semi-tones, instead of his suggested 1 semi-tone.
It works GREAT.

The first time through, I see
Row 1: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 2: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 3: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 4: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
The second time through, I see
Row 1: Gm7 C7 FMaj7
Row 2: Gm7 C7 FMaj7
Row 3: Gm7 C7 FMaj7
Row 4: Gm7 C7 FMaj7
And the 7th time through, I see
Row 1: G#m7 C#7 F#Maj7
Row 2: G#m7 C#7 F#Maj7
Row 3: G#m7 C#7 F#Maj7
Row 4: G#m7 C#7 F#Maj7

i PREFER to see
Row 1: Abm7 Db7 GbMaj7
Row 2: Abm7 Db7 GbMaj7
Row 3: Abm7 Db7 GbMaj7
Row 4: Abm7 Db7 GbMaj7

This is SO not a big deal. However, folks seem to be interested in finding the right solution, so I wanted to CLARIFY exactly what I was hoping for. THANK YOU to all contributors.

FYI: This is a chord sequence my guitar teacher has asked me to type in. I use it to practice certain scale patterns.
Thank again

One final clarification: I only type in the initial sequence:
Row 1: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 2: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 3: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Row 4: Dm7 G7 CMaj7
Band in a Box AUTOMATICALLY GENERATES the subsequent rows. It "refreshes" the 4 rows on each chorus repeat to show the transposed chords. I want it to display the 7th refresh as flats not sharps. It's like I'm looking for a feature that says (perhaps it could be added to the transpose box) that says "Check here to use Gb instead of F#". BTW: It does present B instead of Cb (Chorus 8), which is what I want. And it presents Db, instead of C# (Chorus 6).

Certain enharmonic chord and note spellings are not supported in BIAB: Cb, Fb, B#, and E#.

I wish they were, but I can live with it as is.

That's good to know. Now I can stop searching.
On the positive side, it teaches me to master-quite-well these equivalent-spellings.
Thanks.

Mac and Russ,

Thanks for the heads up and I will more than likely make the changes when I get some time, but as stated it really does not bother me that much . . . you know it's now like one of the family.

Thanks,

Hi

The method i use is to right click note in the notation page and then the edit note at the top of menu and then on the righthand side, the force accidental dialouge box where you have Auto,Natural,Flat or sharp and you can change your note to what ever you need

Cardinal,

Have you tried changing the key to Gb? Looking at what you typed it, it seems that you might still be in the key of C.
