It seems no one has an answer on how to get a "club" style ending so here's another one. How can I get BIAB to fade out over a number of bars where chords repeat?
This site is great! Thanks all. Robert

1) Right-click and select Song Settings (or click on the S icon next to Memo). You will see "Fadeout Ending # Bars" or 2) Near the end of the chart, Right-click and select Bar Settings (or press F5). Click on the drop down for All Instruments and enter a number on Fade Per Bar. Experiment with values. or 3) Take the song into Real Band, Power Tracks, or another sequencer program and apply the fade or 4) Render the song to Wav and then go into an audio editor like Audacity and do the fade. One of these should work for you. What was the other question? I didn't see that. [EDIT - found it and gave an initial answer. See http://www.pgmusic.com/ubbthreads/showfl...true#Post218672 ]

For midi, on the melody or soloist track you could input diminishing control 7 (Volume) changes for all of your instruments over the repeating chords at the end of the tune. First determine what channels bass, piano, melody, etc are set to and then inset Control 7s for each of those channels. You could also use Control 11(Expression), but I would encourage the use of Volume instead because Biab resets volumes at the start of the song.

I probably should have mentionned that I'm running BIAB 2007. I can't find "Fadeout Ending # Bars" anywhere. Was this feature added in 2008? Robert

Robert, yes. It was added in maybe version 2008.5, somewhere in there. We were really happy to see that feature.
A good reason to upgrade?

Great! :-/
I'm running Mac version 12 build 28. So what's that equal to - PC version 2000?
Any 'fade out' capabilities for Macs (in a live environment)

Hi Dru,
I don't think the Mac ver 12 supports the volume change at bar command we're talking about.
Neither did the Windows version I use for a long time, but I still did fadeouts on live gigs by using a Volume Pedal between the keyboard mixer and the amp. I left it floored in normal use and for the fadeouts songs I'd just use my foot to gradually fade over repeated bars. In a few ways, that actually worked better than the automatic bar fade does now. One might also be able to accomplish this using a MIDI controller pedal set to CC11 Expression or CC7 Volume and all channels, too.

Thanks Mac!
Who knows, I might even find a use for that old Wha-Wha pedal I have in the garage. :-D
