Hi all BiaB-ers
please can anybody help me on my issue (problem) with working in BiaB and external keyboard?
there is more details:
- in BiaB I set channels for instruments in following way: Bass: chn3, Piano: chn1, Drums: chn10, Guitar: chn2, Strings: chn5, Melody: chn4, Soloist: chn6, Thru chn7
(it set through menu "Opt. -> Preferencies -> [Channels]"
- for bass is setting Patch: 33, Bank0: 0 and LSB(32): 0
- this values to set my keyboard to sound: PRE1:033(C01)(Or:Perc Org) (it's a 33-th sound preset), but I want set my keyboard to preset: PRE1:063(D15)(Ba:Slap)
- problem is if I change value of Patch to 63 and stop and start song, value is reset to default (?) value (=33). If I set this value (from 33 to 63) during playback song, parameter is send to keyboard and it change its preset to 63 and plays this preset. Until I stop and play song again. Then value is reset to 33 again. Why?
- and what means parameters "Bank0" and "LSB(32)". I think that through this parameter (Bank0) I can change bank preset. But it is not operate (on change parameter's value my keyboard don't change bank preset) and it resets to default (?) value on restart song.
The same situation is on parameter "LSB(32)".
- I have connect my notebook with my Yamaha S80 piano through USB/MIDI cable
Where I can set BiaB for no-changing (no-reset) these parameters on restart song???

That is because the Patch data is imbedded in the songfile.
After you have changed the patches and before you hit play again, go to File -> Save Song with Patches and Harmony and hit the "Fill with Patches" button, also check the boxes on the right for MSB and LSB and then Save from there.
That will rewrite the data in the songfile.

This is the main reason most of us wind up keeping Biab GM. If you're going to do that Fred, I would keep two versions of your songs, one with the new patches for your synth and one as default GM. Imagine you wind up saving hundreds or even thousands of songs with all those patches over the next several years and then your keyboard craps out and you get a Korg. Everything's different. Or, you get a killer GM synth like the SD2 and no longer need to do custom patches. If you kept a copy of those songs as GM, you're good to go.
