This is one that I posted here a few years back that I've rewritten and recorded in a different vein. I found a great program that I recorded this song with; FL Studio 8. I recorded most of the tracks with the piano roll. Mixed all the instruments and FX with the program. The sound effects came with FL Studio 8. The drums are a loop that I found.

I recorded the vocal with RealBand. Then did the editing and mastering in Adobe Audition. Please give it a listen. Any feedback you have to offer is appreciated.

Grooooooovy!
Me likey muchas! Hit that (hit)parade and run(with a bag fulla new-celebrity-moola)!

It is again late at night here, so I can't listen very loud, so about the mix I cannot be sure, but on the headphone (louder) it sounded great and also on this low volume it sounds all good. Here and there the vocal was a bit weaker, but not worth to mention, it is a minor detail.

Until now, since this more the style I like, it was the coolest thing I heard here. No offense to all the other fine musicians, this is just more my thang!

Charlie you old punk rocker! Not sure if my head was not in the right place when I listened back a few weeks ago or the re-mix just won me over, probably both. Anyway you proved one can indeed step out on a limb without cutting it off behind them. Bottom-line this bold experiment worked for you and kudos on having the fortitude to hang in there with it and make it better.

Nice job, ya sold me!

Quite interesting and well produced. The only thing it seems to be missing (to me) are some big fat horns. Pretty cool as is, though. I think the vocals are very well done!

ab, glad you like it. Thanks for listening and your comments. I like all music but never listened to the latest hits. Started listening and started liking a few. Lady Gaga and Timbaland have a couple of things that I really like.

Thanks, Danny. Your words, as always, are appreciated.

Kevin, glad you liked it. Thanks for your input. I put a horn or two in the song when I was experimenting with sounds but settled on this.

Actually I am not so much into the hitparade either, I sometimes hear songs that happen to be in it which I like though. In fact the reason why I said it, was that I can imagine this song being played in places where people like to dance such as a discotheque a.s.o. It has a very catchy groove making one makes to move all the time, well at least I couldn't sit still. This way I feel it as well could become a hit if the right pluggers would put it out there on the radio. And also on a louder volume it stands like a concrete house Charlie!

Sundance, thanks a lot. Your words are music to my ears.

ab, that song is available for recording. I wish a big recording artist felt the way you do about it. First you need to get it to them and they, or their producer, will need to listen to it. No small feat, that. I've sent it to one publisher so I'm hoping something might happen. Thanks again for your input.

Mac, you ever see that Seinfeld episode where George does everything opposite of the way he normally would? I've been wrong up to this point about my songs so maybe I need another direction. Thanks for the listen and feedback.

Charlie.......

Very good mix imo, it does sound sorta disco, vocals were well handled, my personal bent would be to do this in an old blues style rather than the dance groove, but then I don't dance. lol

Good job.

Thanks, Ed for listening and your comments. I checked out your website. Nice songs and website.

Hello, Toucher. Blues is a good idea for this this song. I've recorded it as country and rock so blues should be next. Thanks for the input.

Thank you Charley, for a production that (IMHO) is clearly well above the usual fare, and thus earns a grade of "Far exceeds expectations." Creative all the way through.

It made my new nearfields veritably sizzle -- nicely mixed and mastered! I have no criticisms or suggestions -- I think the style is just fine (even if most of us no longer dance -- very often). To my ears, I could hear it being sung by John Hiatt or Robert Palmer, although you did just fine, vocally -- better than fine. Post more.

Brad, thanks for listening and your comments. In the track before this one the bass was getting a little rumble in my car, at high volume, so I brought it down a little. I hope you didn't notice any distortion or rumble on your speakers if you played it fairly loud.

Mario and Noel, thanks a lot for your input.

My first impression was Prince. Very well produced. I am the same as above, don't dance, but I could bust a move to this. I played it loud over here, and nothing to criticize on my system.

Luvs I was curious if any problems would occur at loud volumes on someone else's system. Thanks for letting me know, for the listen and your input. Prince is more than welcome to record this song.

Charlie, that is seriously impressive in too many ways for me to list!
Ok, a small part of that list would include: original, quirky, hook-laden, immaculately performed and assembled.
I LIKE it!
