I have entered a couple of chords several days ago to find appropriate RealDrums for what I want. I have selected "RealDrums-Salsa^1-HiHat,Ride". So far I'm happy with them, but:
No matter what I enter, activate or deactivate regarding drum fills, there are drum fills in RealBand every four measures. In BIAB mostly there are some every four measures but sometimes they are also inbetween, even in two measures in a row.
It also doesn't matter, yes, I have tested that, if I do not not change the chord for more than eight measures.
Can anybody copy, or give insight if this is wanted or a problem within the software?
(Yes, I know, I can edit the track in RealBand, but anytime I change something and it regenerates the drums, I have to do that again. I don't like to repeat work unnecessarily, even if somebody says that it gives me practice.)
Presumably you don't have any Part Markers on the 5th, 9th, 13th etc bars?
The tracks are not frozen?
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
Are you looping several bars as in a very short chorus? If so BIAB will place a B section on the middle chorus which will evoke a fill. This can be turned off in preferences.
What happens if you tick this box in Song Settings, and Regenerate?

Copy a measure of non-fill drums to the clipboard.... delete the measures that have the fills you don't want and paste the non-fill measure in it's place.
Waaa Laaa.... easy fix.
I use this method the other way around. Placing fills or licks where I want them when they're not there to start with. Grab from another part of the song and copy/paste.
Works like a charm.
You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.com Add nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both.
The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Will have to do that if everything else fails.
Edit: Eventually I will finish the song and redo the drums in Reaper. But I still would like to know the reason for this behavior.
As an experiment, what about placing a part marker but using the new feature to not play a fill? Would affirmatively telling BIAB to not play a fill be better that leaving it to chance?
I'll have to try this later ...
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.
I have a similar problem in that I want to add fills and the only way I see to do it is to add part marker but then on the chord sheet it separates as a new "part" but all I really want is a fill on a particular measure?

You can change that behavior in display preferences so a new row is not invoked with a part marker.
GHinCH As a thought, can you post the song file somewhere and others could see if they reproduce the same behavior?

The focus is on the drums in the moment not on the other instrumentation. I don't know which drums it loads on your side. I have changed the drums in the style to Salsa, in this case Salsa^1-Hihat, Ride
It might be that you need to visit the Stylemaker and change the weightings for the different drum patterns.
I know virtually nothing about this but I have seen posts from Peter Gannon where he has spoken about using Stylemaker to stop the occurrence of specific patterns. I'm reasonably sure that this would apply to Realdrums, too.
Maybe someone who has experience in this will jump into the thread.
